MAYOR'S MESSAGE
From Mayor Leonard Desiderio...

I begin this message with my sincerest thanks to the people of our community for the patience they have shown during the recent road work that has taken place in town, including along Central Avenue and Park Road. I realize that dealing with detours, un-even road surfaces and noise from construction equipment can be very annoying, but they are necessary evils of road reconstruction projects – and I am very grateful for everyone’s understanding.

CITY COUNCIL'S MESSAGE
From The Members of City Council...

At the start of the December 14 City Council meeting, Mayor Desiderio stated that both the Sea Isle City Library building and the new Saint Joseph Church are celebrating their tenth anniversaries this month; and he also mentioned that Santa Claus will be driving through Sea Isle City on Saturday morning with the help of the Sea Isle City Fire Department.

Each of the resolutions on the December 14 Consent Agenda was approved, including…

PROJECT UPDATES
Paving Projects
Roadway Reconstruction
Lagoon Dredging
Utility Reconstruction and More...

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS
Spend the Holidays in Sea Isle City

Santa’s Drive-By Parade: On Saturday, December 18, Santa Claus will drive through Sea Isle City with the help of our local firefighters, and he will pass by homes that register their addresses with the Recreation Office. To register, phone 609-263-0050 on December 17 between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The parade will begin at 10:00 AM on December 18 at the northern-most home that is registered, and then will continue to the southernmost home on Santa’s route. The length of the parade will be determined by the number of registered homes. Unfortunately, Santa’s fire engine will not be able to drive down dead-end streets (such as “no outlet” bay-front and beach-front streets), so families that register on those blocks will need to walk to their nearest corner as they hear the fire engines approaching.

Ugly Sweater Contest: Time is running-out to upload a photo of you wearing your favorite “Ugly” Holiday Sweater to the Sea Isle City Recreation Facebook page. You can also email your photo to sicrec@seaislecitynj.us. The deadline for entries is December 17. A prize will go to the winner. 609-263-0050.

Santa’s Mailbox: There’s a special red mailbox in the lobby of City Hall that children can use to mail letters to Saint Nick. No postage is necessary, because the City uses a magical delivery service to ensure that all of Santa’s mail arrives safely at the North Pole.

Holiday Photo-Ops at The Colonnade Inn: The public is invited to take photos inside one of Sea Isle City’s oldest Victorian buildings. Bring you camera to 4600 Landis Avenue on Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and use the Inn’s beautiful woodwork and Christmas decorations as a backdrop for your holiday photos. 609-263-8868.

New Year's Eve FireworksFriday, December 31, 8:00 PM, JFK Boulevard Beach, 609-263-8687.
