MAYOR'S MESSAGE

From Mayor Leonard Desiderio:

Anyone with strong ties to Sea Isle City more than likely knows about the devastating fire that took place on 54th Street on November 29, which took the life of Marie Zielinski. In addition to being the matriarch of the Corso family (a very well-known local clan), Marie was also a beloved member of this community and was a supporter of several local civic organizations, including AARP, the Catholic Daughters and the Sea Isle City Garden Club - groups that will greatly miss her gracious presence. It goes without saying that Marie's daughter Nina, sons Joe and Christopher, grandchildren, extended family and her many friends have our deepest sympathy.

CITY COUNCIL'S MESSAGE

From The Members of City Council:

During the November 27 City Council meeting, a very large audience filled Council Chambers in anticipation of the Second Reading and Public Comment for Ordinances 1626, 1627 and 1628, which pertain to Affordable Housing. Many of the property owners in attendance asked questions about the new ordinances and for nearly two-hours City Solicitor Paul Baldini answered those questions in detail, after which each of the three ordinances was adopted. The adoption of these ordinances will keep our City in compliance with the State's Affordable Housing Requirements. Sea Isle City's Affordable Housing Plan is as compatible as possible with our community's current zoning ordinances and still complies with State requirements. << READ MORE>>

Packaging and Gift Wrap:
Recycle or Trash?

Because the holiday season often comes with packaging, gift wrapping and decorations, many people have questions about what to recycle or place in the trash. To help everyone properly dispose of items during the holiday season, the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority (CMCMUA) is announcing the launch of "Waste Wizard" (an application that instructs you to recycle or dispose of waste material). Go to www.cmcmua.com and click the "How do I dispose of....?" link to download the app on your mobile device. You can also download the free mobile app from the CMCMUA website or enter "CMCMUA" at the App Store or Google Play. The CMCMUA reminds everyone to "Know it before you throw it."
