February 28, 2019
In addition to providing the many municipal services we all rely upon, the City’s Administration also strives to continually beautify our community by making Sea Isle City “greener” and more appealing to the eye. Case in point, one of the improvement projects we have planned for 2019 is the installation of new trees along JFK Boulevard (from the Sea Isle Bridge to Landis Avenue) and also in parts of the downtown business district along Landis Avenue. This project, which will replace older trees that have died, will begin later this spring.

During the February 26 City Council meeting, Business Administrator George Savastano announced that a “Coffee With Cops” gathering with the Sea Isle City Police Department will take place on Monday, March 4, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sands Department Store. During this community outreach event, members of the public can speak with our police officers and enjoy light refreshments.

  The Roads To Ludlam Island

When the first hunters and fishermen ventured from the county mainland to Ludlam’s Island, they had to slosh through the wetlands and somehow cross over the body of water called “Ludlam’s Thorofare.” Then in 1880, along came Charles Kline Landis with his dream to convert this wilderness into a Sea Isle City paradise. Within a year, Landis had managed to get the first roadway built to the island.  READ MORE
