CITIZEN CALL-CHECK PROGRAM

Free Service From The SICPD

Offers Peace Of Mind For Seniors

And Those Who Live Alone

Sea Isle City residents can easily sign-up for an important free service called the “Citizen Call-Check” Program (also known as “CCC”), which helps ensure that seniors, the physically disabled and those who live alone are safe in their homes each day of the year. Once registered, residents simply phone the Sea Isle City Police Department each morning to say “I am OK.” If the Police don’t hear from you by 11:00 AM each day, they will phone you; and, if you don’t answer your phone when they call, they will send an officer to knock on your door – just to make sure you’re doing well. To register, please phone the SICPD Records Department Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at (609) 263-4311 ext. 2223 or ext. 2246.

MEDICINE DROP-BOX

Rid Your Home Of

Dangerous Medications

The Sea Isle City Police Department reminds you that there is a Medicine Drop Box located in the lobby of City Hall at 233 JFK Boulevard, which allows residents and visitors to safely and anonymously dispose of unused and unwanted prescription medications, 24-hours a day / 7-days a week (no fee required). Please remove labels containing names and other personal info before depositing medications in the drop box. Needles, sharp instruments, and liquids are not accepted. Help keep your family and guests safe by ridding your home of dangerous medications – because a secure medicine cabinet is a safe medicine cabinet!  To learn more about Sea Isle City’s Medicine Drop Box, call the SICPD at 609-263-4311.

HYDRANT FLUSHING

Regular Water Maintenance

Ensures Reliability

During the months of April and May, the Sea Isle City Water Department will be flushing-out the water distribution system through the fire hydrants and exercise water valves throughout town. Semi-annual hydrant flushing is required to ensure that hydrants and the water distribution systems are functioning properly and can provide the proper drinking water quality (thus providing adequate water flow when needed). This is also a requirement for the Water Quality Accountability Act.  If a hydrant is being flushed near your home or business, we encourage you to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices during flushing operations. Residents can expect very little disruption in their water service - if any. However, low water pressure and possible water discoloration may occur. In the event of discoloration, simply allow water to run from the tap for a short while until clear. These conditions are not harmful and are usually short term. For additional info, phone 609-263-6000 (ext. 11) or email: dteefyjr@seaislecitynj.us.
