MAYOR'S MESSAGE

If you ever had to dispose of prescription medications and weren't certain how to safely do so, you'll be happy to know that the Sea Isle City Police Department recently joined the New Jersey Attorney General's "Project Medicine Drop" initiative and has installed a permanent Prescription Medicine Drop Box in the lobby of City Hall. To accentuate the importance of securing home medicine cabinets and safely disposing of unwanted medications - and to let everyone know about our new drug disposal box - we hosted a press conference and unveiling ceremony on October 29, during which the drop box was officially put into use. Now, residents and visitors can easily and anonymously rid their homes of unused drugs 24-hours a day / 7-days a week by simply making a quick stop at City Hall. Also, by using the new drop box, you'll be helping the battle against the opiate epidemic <<READ MORE>>

T. I. BRIDGE IS CLOSED

Please Plan an Alternate Route

Due to the need for repairs, the Cape May County Bridge Commission has announced that the Townsend Inlet Bridge (connecting Sea Isle City and Avalon) will be closed to all v ehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic starting September 17. While repairs are underway, construction crews will be working extra shifts; however the bridge is not expected to re-open until May, 2019.
CITIZEN CALL-CHECK PROGRAM

Peace of Mind for Seniors and Those Who Live Alone

Sea Isle City residents can easily sign-up for a valuable free service called the "Citizen Call-Check" Program (also known as "CCC"), which helps ensure that seniors, the physically disabled and those who live alone are safe in their homes each day of the year. Once registered, residents simply phone the Sea Isle City Police Department each morning to say "I am OK." If the Police don't hear from you by 11:00 a.m. each day, they will phone you. And, if you don't answer your phone when they call, they will send an officer to knock on your door - just to make sure you're doing well. To learn how to register for the SICPD's Citizen Call-Check Program, please phone the SICPD Records Department Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at (609) 263-4311 ext. 2223 or ext. 2246.

HYDRANT FLUSHING

Regular Maintenance
Ensures Reliability

During the months of October and November, Sea Isle City's Water Department will flush-out the water distribution system through the fire hydrants and exercise water valves throughout town. Semi-annual hydrant flushing is required to ensure that hydrants and the water distribution systems are functioning properly and can provide the proper drinking water quality (thus providing adequate water flow when needed). This is also a requirement for the Water Quality Accountability Act.  If a hydrant is being flushed near your home or business, we encourage youto avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices during flushing operations. Residents can expect very little disruption in their water service - if any.  However, low water pressure and possible water discoloration may occur.  In the event of discoloration, simply allow water to run from the tap for a short while until clear. These conditions are not harmful and are usually short term. For additional info, phone 609-263-6000 (ext. 11) or email: [email protected] .
