COVID-19 Latest
It's been another unusual week, and first of all we want to say how much we here at the City of Lakeway truly appreciate all of our residents and businesses for following the Stay At Home Orders currently in place. We understand it's a difficult time, but it's really great to see everyone working together to keep each other safe. Please continue to practice your physical distancing guidelines and avoid the closed facilities at our parks and across the City. Also, we know you have questions regarding how many positive cases are in the Lakeway area. We can tell you that there is a new tracker recently launched by Austin-Travis County. Visit austintexas.gov/covid19 - in the middle of the page you will see the number of cases in Travis County currently, along with a map. If you click to expand the map, you will be able to see the cases by zip code. Lakeway has two zip codes (78738 and 78734) - as of the morning hour of Friday, April 3, there are 12 positive cases associated with those zip codes, unchanged from the previous day. There is a total of 351 cases in all of Travis County, which is up from 305 the previous day. Be sure to follow our website for the latest updates. It's Census Time
Census Day was officially this past April 1, but it's still not too late to take the survey. For the first time, you can now complete the Census online. In the mail, you should have received a sheet with a code to access the online portion of the survey. The online version takes just a few minutes to complete. You can also still complete the handwritten form as well. If you're having trouble completing the survey, there is still time to take it. The self-response phase is extended to August 14 due to the COVID-19 developments. However, it's important not to delay if you're able to finish it now. Click here for more details. If you have questions or there is an error on your form, call the U.S. Census Bureau at (800) 923-8282.
