Caronavirus (COVID-19) Update & Information
The City of Lakeway has information posted from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to updates on the Coronavirus along with prevention tips. While the story continues to evolve, as of the morning of Friday, March 6, 2020, there are currently no known positive cases being reported at this time in Travis County. We will continue to post any important updates, links and information related to this story on our website ( or you can click here to go directly to our online story.

While there is currently no vaccine for this disease, the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

The City of Lakeway will remain in contact with Austin and Travis County officials regarding this disease, and issue any important updates as necessary.
