Travis County is currently in Stage 4 on the risk-based guidelines. This level recommends businesses operate within a 25% to 50% capacity and those in a high-risk group limit gatherings to no more than two. Non-essential travel should also be avoided. Gatherings must still be no more than 10 individuals for other groups. Please continue to social/physical distance between individuals not in your household, and wash your hands regularly. Thank you for continuing to follow these guidelines during this unusual time.

Holiday Shopping Safety Tips
It's Black Friday, and while tackling the holiday shopping list may be different this year with the ongoing pandemic, the dangers are still there. It's important to practice the proper safety measures while shopping, and during the rest of the holiday season.

The Lakeway Police Department has these important tips to follow for shoppers:

  • Stay alert and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Park in a well-lit area and be sure to lock your car, close your windows and hide all gifts and shopping bags in the trunk or out of sight.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
  • Carry your purse close to your body and put your wallet in an inside pocket or front pants pocket.
  • Lock your doors immediately upon entering your vehicle.
  • When shopping with children, teach them to go to the store clerk or security guard if you get separated and don't allow your kids to go off by themselves.
