Calling all Griffins! 
After school homework help is available! 
If you need a little extra help with homework, or a quiet place to study, come by the Media Center after school from 2:37-4:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays! Our awesome and highly qualified LAHS teachers are available to answer questions and lend some help during this time.

What's Going on in the 
College and Career Center? 
Happy New Year! As we head into the 2nd semester of the year, here are a few things to keep in mind...
  • Work Permits are required for any high school student to work and can be picked up in the College and Career Center
  • SAT/ACT tests are recommended for students in the spring of their junior year, and fall of their senior year. Signs ups are only available at CollegeBoard.org (SAT) and ACT.org (ACT)
  • Senior Scholarships are now available on Naviance!
Community College Events
Long Beach City College 
Senior Preview Day
A large group of our Senior Griffins attended a preview day at Long Beach City College and had a blast! The learned about the programs and services offered at LBCC, as well as got to tour and learn about several departments and majors. 



Free College Information Events
Below is a list of colleges/universities that are holding evening/weekend events that allow you to hear more about their schools and programs. This gives students the chance to hear more about these schools without missing class time, and gives parents the opportunity to take part as well! We hope that are able to take advantage of these opportunities as they can offer interesting and important information!

- Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Rice Universities, and University of Chicago : Sunday, April 28th at 2:00pm in Downtown L.A., ­or  Monday, April 29th at 7:00pm in Irvine. For more details and to RSVP, please visit: exploringeducationalexcellence.org

College Planning Calendar for Seniors

April:
  • Preview programs and visit colleges.
  • Send Intent to Register, and then withdrawal notification to colleges you are not attending. (Deadline for Intent to Register is usually May 1).
  • Check for any other housing or scholarship deadlines.
  • Keep your grades up! Final grades of Senior year do count!
