While Mother Nature hasn't quite released her grip on our winter weather just yet, what better way to celebrate in the month of February than with chocolate! Our Highland Heights Seniors recently hosted a chocolate hand-dipped treats workshop. All of the participants enjoyed making chocolate covered strawberries, pretzels, and raisins.

Things are continuing to ramp up at City Hall with plans soon to be revealed for our summer recreation programs. Online registration opened today for baseball, softball, and t-ball (see online registration link below). The 2025 edition of the Summer Sizzler will be landing in resident mailboxes some time during the first week of March. Look for all our youth programs and activities, as well as our summer lineup for Music at the Gazebo. Don't forget to save the date for Community Day, which will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
We continue to actively work towards finalizing the 2025 budget, ensuring it aligns with the city's goals. This process includes a thorough review of our expenses and revenues, in collaboration with our department heads. The decisions that are made directly impact what is in the best interest of the city and our residents. A more detailed report of this will be shared in the city's spring newsletter which will arrive in resident mailboxes next month.
Before you know it, spring will be here! While we still have to deal with a few more weeks of winter, there is one bright spot...the return of daylight. Don't forget to spring forward by turning your clocks ahead one hour on March 9, 2025.
Sincerely,
| |
Chuck Brunello, Jr.
Mayor/Safety Director
