Congratulations Bishop-elect Fernand Cheri!!!
 

On January 12, 2015 Pope Francis named Father Fernand Cheri III OFM, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.  See press release.  The episcopal installation will be on March 23.

Soliciting Nominations for Participants at 2015 Black Catholic Young Adult Convening, May 29-31, 2015        

  

USCCB - African American Affairs is seeking 25 Black Catholic Young Adults to help develop viable approaches and resources for evangelization and leadership development.   

An ideal nominee is an active Catholic of African descent, who is between 25 - 35 years of age and is endorsed by a leader from a national Catholic organization, arch/diocese, educational institution or parish. 

 

The nomination form and procedures will be sent via separate communication.
 
 
 

Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) Seeks Nominations of Catholic Young Adults Fighting Causes of Poverty by March 15

Nominate a faithful Catholic between the ages 18-40 for the 2015 Cardinal Bernardin New Leadership Award. 

CCHD gives this award annually to an individual(s) addressing problems in their local communities, working with social justice organizations or leading social concerns efforts on college campuses.

 

The nominee must be actively engaged in work on the local or national level to break the cycle of poverty in the United States.  The winner receives $1000 at a reception at the June meeting of the U.S. Catholic Bishops. Get info here
