St. John's Episcopal Church - Centreville, VA

Parish News - May 7, 2025

To St. John's Parishioners and Friends:

"I am about to do a new thing: now it springs forth; do you not perceive it?" --Isaiah 43:19

Our Next Chapter campaign takes its inspiration from the Isaiah passage above. St. John's is 170 years old, but it has always been ready to welcome the newcomer and the new idea. The founders of the congregation would never have imagined that such a wide range of groups would find a home here, but they would have approved the idea of using the resources we have to build our own spiritual home while offering a place to others to do the same.

The Next Chapter campaign (see previous newsletter for more) is off to a strong start, reaching over 40% of its goal. St John's is strong because its congregation has always been ready to show what a small congregation can do. We invite you to join with those who have already contributed to make an investment in the future of the church and its mission, as a place for worship, as a base for outreach, and a congregation that takes its lead from the Gospel.

You can support the “Next Chapter” campaign:

  • by check with “2025 Next Chapter” in the memo line;
  • online, selecting “Next Chapter 2025;” and/or
  • by gifting an appreciated stock or mutual fund, or a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. Please designate as “Next Chapter 2025.”

Thank you for your generous support of our congregation.

Faithfully,

Lisa
