SHARE A JOY….SHARE A SORROW
Each Sunday we pause to lift-up those times in our lives when joy either caught us by surprise or met us as a moment we awaited with anticipation and life felt good. We drop a stone to remember those moments. We follow those stones with those we carry for whom life is having too much of its way with us, sometimes from losses or burdens to weighty to carry on one’s own. We drop a stone to remember those moments of sorrow. We drop such stones as a way of sharing our lives together in covenant.
By clicking on the link below, you have the opportunity to share such joys and sorrows in this Sunday’s service. The joy or sorrow you name will be read during the service and a stone dropped in the vase.

Covid-19 Community Outreach
March Recipient: The Haven of Hope Villages of America
The Social Justice Council recognized the great need for financial support to local non-profits during these difficult times. (our collection for the Clearwater Free Clinic concluded on February 28 (THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED!!!). With a new month comes a new organization. The recipient for the month of March is the Haven of Hope Villages of America (formerly RCS)
The Haven of Hope Villages of America (HVA) is a domestic violence service near Clearwater providing help for people dealing with domestic abuse. They work to expose the scope of the problem and destigmatize being a survivor. In addition to a 24-hour domestic abuse hotline, HVA operates a certified domestic violence center that has an Outreach Center and an Emergency Safe House with 36 beds for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
Residents are provided everything they need, from toiletries to food to job placement assistance. Staff and volunteers at the Outreach Center work with 14,000 people each year to provide legal advocacy and assistance for domestic violence survivors. HVA also works with businesses and schools teaching de-escalating behaviors, bullying awareness, dating violence and prevention. Preventing abuse and protecting survivors is a 24/7 mission for Hope Villages of America (HVA).
If you would like to help us with this effort, you may donate online:
Text Giving is also possible: (727) 500-2410
Be sure to choose "the Haven of HVA" from the drop-down menu.

New Legislative Advocacy Forming
The UUC Social Justice Council has approved a new advocacy group to work with UU Justice Florida during the Florida state legislative session. In years past UU Justice Florida has organized a trip to Tallahassee to meet with our legislators and discuss bills that support our UU values. This year because of the pandemic, this advocacy trip can’t occur. Therefore, it is more important than ever to email and call our state legislators about the bills they will be voting on before and during the legislative session which starts March 2, 2021. Bills are being heard in committee now. Step 1 - Find out who is your state representative and state senator. Find out which committees they are on and find out their phone numbers and email addresses. Step 2 - Join the UUC SJ Immediate Response Team on Facebook if you aren’t already a member or send an e-mail to Linda Stoller at lstol10403@aol.com to get legislative alerts
