From the Pastor
Austin Mason, our Minister of Youth and Education, announced his resignation this past Sunday. August 15th will be his last day in that role. He has accepted the call to serve as Youth Minister at his home church in Thomasville, Alabama. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Austin, Chloe, and Ella Grace. However, we rejoice with them as they return to serve God in their home community.

We are planning a farewell reception for the Masons on Sunday evening, August 15th, at 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. I hope you will make plans to come show them your appreciation for their labors here over the past 3 years. Also, we are collecting a love offering to present to them at that time. You may contribute in the following ways:

  • Make out a check to RPBC and marked as “Mason love gift.” You may mail it or drop it off at the church.
  • Place your gift in an envelope marked as “Mason love gift” and drop it in one of the offering boxes at the church.
  • Give as a designated gift through our regular on-line giving.
  • Drop your gift in a designated box in the Fellowship Hall on the night of the reception.

Our students return to school this Thursday, August 5th. Once again they are returning to schools with COVID protocols in place. When we consider COVID, school shootings and violence, racial tensions, the divisions in our nation, and announced plans across the nation to introduce curriculum that is contrary to families and God’s word, we need to be diligent to pray for our children, their teachers, and administrators as they begin a new school year. Therefore, RPBC will be participating with others across our county in a prayer walk this Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00pm. This is how you can be a part:

  1. Come to the Sanctuary at 6:00pm Wednesday to pick up a prayer guide. I will lead us in prayer before you go on the walk.
  2. Go to the school of your choice (public, private, or even homeschool)
  3. At the school you choose, you may pray as you walk the school grounds, pray as you stand on the sidewalk, pray in the parking lot, or pray in your vehicle.
  4. Using the guide provided, pray by yourself, along with a partner, or in a group.
  5. For those at home who are unable to get out, a School Prayer Guide will be posted on the RPBC website for you to use as a guide as you pray at home.

Prayer makes a difference!

Blessed to be Your Pastor!
