“Thank you” seems so inadequate to express my heart for your recognition and generosity for Pastor Appreciation. But, I do want to thank the Personnel Committee for leading the recognition, Linda Hancock for her kind, heart-felt words in making the presentation, and each of you for making us feel loved – every day! And, thank you for your generous love gift! I am so undeserving of the BLESSING of being your pastor. It is a call that I do not take for granted, and I strive each and every day to be worthy of His and your trust.
Also, thank you to the members of the awesome Color Guard who added so much to our Veterans Day celebration: Jaxon Harrelson, Sawyer Harrelson, Casey Crain, Makeila Geier, and Robert Williams. All of these are part of the NJROTC (National Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp) program of Pearl River Central High School. They make their mamas proud!
Lastly, thank you to all of our veterans and active duty personnel of the U.S. Armed Forces. Your service is part of the legacy of our great nation. On your watch our country has remained “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Bits and Pieces – This is Collection Week for the OCC Shoeboxes. Please don’t forget to get them turned in by Sunday! The Fall Festival fellowship is this Saturday, 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Bring your lawn chair, appetite, and come have a good time! Please continue to pray for our Youth / Education Minister Search Committee. While we are seeking the right man, I just want to say how grateful I am for all of our youth volunteer workers who labor to keep our program intact. Youth programs are like churches: they can be torn down overnight, but take years to build back. These workers are standing in the gap to keep our youth ministry strong! Let them know you appreciate them.
See you Sunday!
Dan
