Yesterday was another great day! One of our youth boys prayed to receive Christ as Savior after the 11:00 service. He will make his profession of faith next Sunday. Then, we exceeded our Lottie Moon offering goal! Finally, we had a Spirit-filled deacons meeting where new officers were elected, and most of their discussion revolved around their Widow Ministry. The new deacon officers for 2022 are Albert Lee, Chairman; Mickey Clogher, Vice Chairman; and Kyle Drennan, Secretary.
Thank you, church, for exceeding our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goal once again! The last count I received was $10,300. You guys are awesome!
I mentioned the deacons meeting that was held yesterday afternoon. Let me also mention that prior to the deacons meeting, the Youth Praise Band was here practicing. Then, at the time the deacons were meeting, the Bible Drill informational meeting was being held. And, following the deacons meeting, the adult volunteers who work with the youth met with Rhys to put the finishing touches on the DNOW plans. Folks, this is the church in action! There is so much work, planning, strategy meetings, ministry, and practice that go on behind the scenes that most people aren’t aware of. Yet, no church can function without all those who give so much time and effort to make the church organization and overall ministry strong. Thank you church!
It just felt good to have Rhys Everspaugh on board with us yesterday! Rhys has agreed to be our full-time interim Youth Minister while the Search Committee continues their work. He is in the final semester of his undergrad program at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is excited to be here and we are excited to have him! These next few months are critical for Rhys as he is seeking God’s guidance for his future. And, they are critical for our church as well, as we are seeking the one who will be our permanent Minister of Youth and Education. Please pray for Rhys, the Search Committee, and all our youth and adult volunteers. Also, please take time to make Rhys feel at home and help him get settled in.
I’m So Glad I’m a Part of the Family of God – at RPBC!
