Due to COVID issues that affected students, small group leaders, and even one of our host home venues, we made the difficult decision to cancel DNOW for this past weekend. After much prayer and then watching doors close one at a time, we felt this decision was in everyone’s best interest. As soon as Rhys began to check the calendar and make contacts for rescheduling at a later date, doors began to open immediately surrounding the weekend of April 1-3. We believe this was God’s confirmation that our decision was the best decision. Now, pray for the newly scheduled DNOW weekend!
Although we canceled the DNOW event, we kept the DNOW preacher! Luke Johnson was on tap to be the worship leader for the weekend and then preach in both worship services this past Sunday. I am so glad that he cheerfully kept His commitment to preach Sunday! He delivered a powerful message from Matthew 9:35-38 that challenged us to live like Jesus. Jesus lived His life on mission, met physical and spiritual needs, served from a compassionate burden, and did not waste His life. If Jesus could accomplish all He did in three years, imagine what you and I can do. Jesus said that His disciples would do greater things than He did! In the 11:00am service we welcomed David and Jane Malone on promise of letter. Please take time to get to know them as you make them feel welcome.
It appears that winter has finally arrived in South Mississippi! Enjoy this typically short-lived season while you can. But remember: Don’t be cold, be bold! Tell someone about Jesus, and I hope to see you Sunday!
You are loved!
Dan
