We had a great day of revival services with Luke Johnson. I have heard so many positive comments from many of you. Brad, the praise band, and the choir did such an awesome job in leading us in music worship and preparing our hearts for God’s messages from Luke. And Rhys – who knew the boy could sing?! I also want to thank Carleen Page for a beautiful job filling in on the piano, and Josh Miltier for running the booth (which includes the vital service of livestreaming our services to those who desperately wanted to be here, but couldn’t). I also thank Lori Replogle for organizing the Pizza Supper. And, thank you, church, for giving obediently to the Lord in the revival offerings. Luke has expressed his appreciation for “your generosity and for blessing [him] greatly.”
Revival is a movement of the Holy Spirit in the hearts and lives of believers. It comes from the root word “revive,” which means, “restore to life; regain life or strength; give new life or energy” (Oxford Dictionary). Revival is needed when believers allow worldliness to displace righteousness and compromise to replace holiness in their lives. Revival is also needed when believers lose their focus and become complacent and lethargic concerning their spiritual lives. Revival happens when believers experience great conviction and brokenness, and respond with a cry of desperation and repentance.
In your heart, had you recognized that you needed revival? Did you experience revival? My prayer is that you did; and if you didn’t, that you will.
I Thank My God Upon Every Remembrance of You ! (Philippians 1:3)
