Thank you to everyone who came to our National Day of Prayer event this past Thursday! We had a great turnout and time of prayer. I could sense God’s presence with us. Also, thank you to Twig Branch, Austin Mason, Jet Clogher, Anita Kendrick, and Brad Replogle who voiced prayers for the different emphases.
The time has arrived! This Sunday we will begin to ease back into our regular church schedule and activities by implementing 2 Sunday morning worship services; 9:00am and 11:00am.
The 9:00am service will be reserved for Senior Adults (60+)
. If you are in this age category but want to attend with your children and/or grandchildren, please come to the 11:00am service. Our Senior Adults are at a greater risk if they contract the COVID-19 virus. Please help us create an environment where they can feel safer as they worship by honoring this designation.
This is new territory for all of us. We will be making adjustments as we go to make our facilities and time of worship together as safe as we can reasonably make it. Please be patient with us and one another. We will observe the attendance for the next few weeks as we monitor the COVID-19 statistics for our county, along with changes in the state and city guidelines. Our goal is to be able to phase in all activities, ministries, and events as soon as possible.
To safeguard your worship experience the Sanctuary will be cleaned and disinfected prior to Sunday, and again between services. Please maintain social distancing of 6 feet between yourself and those who are not of your household. We will have every other pew blocked off so that no one will be sitting directly behind you. You are encouraged, but not required, to wear a mask. We also ask that you practice “fellowship elbow bumping” and refrain from hugging and shaking hands. If you have been diagnosed, or exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19; have a fever (or think you might), cough, sore throat, runny nose, are sneezing, don’t feel well today, or have been exposed to anyone with these symptoms, we ask that you NOT attend the services. Again, these guidelines are TEMPORARY. Hopefully we will be able to restore our normal activities soon.
Please note that we will continue to livestream our Sunday morning service (11:00am) and my Wednesday evening message (6:00pm).
If you do not feel safe getting out just yet, or if you have any health condition that places you in a high-risk category for complications should you contract COVID-19, please stay at home.
I want everyone to listen to my heart on this carefully: Those who come to worship in the church facility are not more spiritual than those who worship with us at home. Also, those who come to worship here are not being reckless and foolhardy. So, let us remember that we are one body worshipping in multiple locations, and we are all considering the risks and making the best decisions we can. Let us not be critical of one another, but
“let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).
Remember – it is our great love for one another that identifies us as followers of Christ and serves as a witness to the world! (John 13:35)
I am looking forward to our services Sunday! At the end of the service, we will worship our Lord through the observance of the Lord’s Supper. (Note: We will utilize individual and sealed communion cups.)
I love and miss you!
