We are back! It was so good to see everyone who was able to come out to our “grand opening” this past Sunday as we experienced worship in our Sanctuary for the first time in 2 months! Bro. Brad and the Praise Team (Tommy Tatum, Anita Kendrick, Sandra Stockstill, and Jet Clogher) did a wonderful job in leading us in worship and preparing our hearts for God’s word. I am looking forward to the day we are all back together. I hope it will be soon!
A lot of people have experienced huge changes in their lives due to the restrictions and guidelines imposed in response to COVID-19. Probably none have been affected more than our students and their families. I especially hurt for our high school and college graduates and their families for all of the missed events, activities and ceremonies. While they have responded admirably to a challenging situation, we at RPBC want to honor our graduates with a Baccalaureate service. High School graduating seniors will be able to set up Senior Tables in the Fellowship Hall this week. They will be guests of honor at a luncheon this Sunday. And, a Baccalaureate service will be held for them in Sanctuary at 2:00pm following the luncheon. While the luncheon is limited to immediate family (siblings, parents, and grandparents), all family members and friends of the graduates are invited to join them for the Baccalaureate service. A slide show honoring our graduates will be shown in both morning worship services.
Also, this coming Monday is Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We, as a church family, join with a grateful nation in extending our heartfelt appreciation to the memory of these dedicated men and women, and their families.
Thank you for the privilege of being your pastor!
