“The greatest thing anyone can do for God and man is pray. It is not the only thing, but it is the chief thing. The great people of earth are the people who pray. I do not mean those who talk about prayer; nor those who say they believe in prayer; nor yet those who can explain about prayer; but I mean those people who take time to pray” (S.D. Gordon). In addition to your regular time of prayer, I want to invite you to join our church family in praying every day at 3:00 pm for God to remove the COVID-19 pestilence. This week, as you pray, also please remember these specific needs:

  • Remembering our nation’s 244th birthday, please pray for our president regarding his health and safety, and asking God to give him wisdom, skill, discernment, strength, and courage as he leads this nation through some of the most difficult days of our existence as a nation.
  • Confess our sins as a nation, and pray that God will remove this pestilence and heal our land.
  • Pray that God will restore order and security throughout our nation’s cities.
  • Pray for our law enforcement, first responder, and military personnel.
  • Pray that our Supreme Court justices will sense the conviction of God upon their decisions, and that He will create openings to be filled by those who are righteous and maintain a biblical worldview.
  • Pray that God will use the current unrest and turmoil in our nation to make hearts receptive to the Gospel, and will give voice and courage to Christians in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. May it spark a great revival!
  • Pray for our youth and chaperones (and bus drivers Brian & Tyrone) as they are away at their summer camp in Shocco Springs, Alabama (near Talladega).

Parents, don’t forget our Virtual Vacation Bible School that started Sunday night. To register your child, email us at rpbcvbs20@gmail.com. It only requires 30 minutes per week.

Grace be with You,
Dan
