From the Pastor
I am grateful for another special day of worship that we experienced this past Sunday as we welcomed Robert (Bob) and Charlene (Charlie) Gunn. Also, the music was awesome in both services. Thank you Bro. Brad, choir, and praise team.

Approximately 95 youth and nervous chaperones will be leaving this Sunday at 7:30am, headed to Shocco Springs, Alabama for their summer camp. Please pray diligently for this group. I ask that when you read this that you pause, and pray immediately. Then, put them on your prayer list and pray for them daily as they are away for the camp. This will be the first camp for many of those who are going, and Austin says that there will be several who have not made professions of faith. Pray for traveling safety, camp safety, health, relationships, homesickness, mentoring and counseling opportunities, and spiritual encounters.

The Bibletones will be in concert here this Saturday, June 12th, at 6:00pm. Please come out and hear some good Southern Gospel, and bring some friends!

Janice and I will be attending the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in Nashville next week. This is a very critical time as our Convention wrestles with the same social issues that are causing divide in our nation. The SBC will elect a new president this year. This election will reveal much about the direction our Convention will be led in over the next one to two years. Please pray for Janice and me as we travel, and pray for the SBC!

Blessed to be Your Pastor!
Dan

The Loving Stitchers meet in the Fellowship Hall every second Tuesday from 11am to 1pm. They welcome any woman who would like to join them in this fulfilling ministry. Their next project is children’s T-shirts, dresses and shorts that will be taken on a mission project to Haiti. They are in need of children’s size ‘small’ T-shirts. The dresses and shorts will be made. Donations to purchase
T-shirts, cloth, and other sewing material are welcomed!
Trish Penton, of the Loving Stitchers ministry, is pictured with stacks of pillow cases that will be taken by the Picayune FBC Youth Choir to St. Louis, Missouri this weekend.
