From The Pastor
Friends, you have called me as your Pastor to shepherd the flock and preach the word of God. I will not use the pulpit for politics, from the standpoint of promoting one political person or party above another. Since politics inherently involve philosophies and ideologies that impact our daily lives and affect our freedom to worship and spread the Gospel, I will, however, always encourage you to stay abreast of the issues, know the platforms of the candidates and parties, and vote according to biblical values and a biblical worldview.

On the ballot this November election, Mississippians are being asked to vote for or against Initiative 65, a proposition to change the CONSTITUTION of Mississippi making medical marijuana legal. Make no mistake about it: The wording of this constitutional amendment reveals that Initiative 65 is a Trojan Horse disguised as a gift of the medical benefits of marijuana to the sick, but is actually nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to take a drug that is rightfully illegal in our state and make it legal. For the benefit of the sick? No; for the financial benefit of a few whose money is their god. It is being pitched as “medical marijuana,” but the ultimate goal is the decriminalization of marijuana for recreational purposes. If they are successful in passing Initiative 65, our state will have little ability to regulate and control it, tax it, or even oversee it. To add insult to injury, if Initiative 65 passes, the state (taxpayers) will be required to foot the $2.5 million bill for program start-up, and the sales CANNOT be taxed.

For you and me, Initiative 65 is not a medical issue, and it is not even a social issue. It is a MORAL issue. Biblically, we have but one choice, and that is to vote NO to Initiative 65.

This Wednesday night, my Bible study will feature State Senator Angela Hill and State Representative (District 108) Stacey Wilkes. They will remove the disguise from this Trojan Horse and help you see the truth of this hoax that threatens the lives of us all in Mississippi. Please watch this stream at 6:00pm. You may connect online through rpbc.us via our Facebook page or Vimeo.
