Janice and I enjoyed a few days’ vacation last week, just relaxing and catching up on a few things around the house. I appreciate Mickey Clogher teaching the Bible Study and Bro. Brad leading Prayer Meeting this past Wednesday evening. Also, thank you to Bro. Austin for preaching this past Sunday. However, Janice and I did attend the 11:00 service and saw our youngest granddaughter, Madalynn Grace Secondine, make her public profession of faith! If that didn’t bless us enough, she asked to tell the congregation herself – and she did!
We began a Who’s Your One? emphasis in August 2019. Madalynn was my one! I want to use this occasion to re-emphasize the importance of identifying and praying for one person in your life to come to know Jesus as Savior. Pray for them every day, and don’t stop praying until they are saved! You may think, “That’s a lot of work to just see one person saved.” Let’s give it some perspective. Someone has said, “If you were the only lost person in the world, Jesus would gladly have died just for you.”
Our lives continue to be impacted by COVID. Please note that we have cancelled our Family Fall Festival this year due to COVID concerns. Also, the Mississippi Baptist Convention annual meeting in Jackson has been canceled. Although adjustments in our lives are necessary and prudent, do not let fear of COVID control you. We have resumed most of our church schedule, including Sunday School. Please be faithful in your attendance. If, however, you are in a high-risk health category, please tune in to our streamed services via Facebook or Vimeo.
We find ourselves once again this year in the initial “cone” of another hurricane. Please pray for all those in harm’s way. Also, if you or someone you know needs assistance in preparations, please phone the church office.
Our God is an Awesome God!
