Returning to a 'New Normal'
We’ve been through a lot these past few months. The pervasive march of the coronavirus has changed all our lives. We’ve watched our businesses, restaurants, shops and schools close. Individually, we’ve all had to endure a lengthy statewide shelter-in-place order.
Life has been difficult, to paraphrase the famous opening line in Scott Peck’s “A Road Less Traveled.” Fortunately, due to our collective diligence, we’ve begun to see the reduction of COVID-19 related hospitalizations, deaths and a drop in positive test results.

City Launches Self-Driving E-Scooters
In keeping with its long history of developing cutting-edge technologies, the city of Peachtree Corners announced the launch of a fleet of the world’s first tele-operated e-scooters to operate on public streets. The e-scooters made their debut on Wednesday, May 20 and are now available for use by the general public.

Watch for Weekend Road Closures to Install Pedestrian Bridge
Construction on the pedestrian bridge that will connect the Town Center and The Forum is currently on schedule.
To complete the project, a portion of S.R. 141 (Peachtree Parkway)
between E. Jones Bridge Road/Medlock Bridge Road and Peachtree Corners Circle
will be closed to traffic
during the next two weekends.
During the closures, Medlock Bridge Road and Peachtree Corners Circle around the Town Center will be used as detours for both northbound and southbound traffic.

Two New Businesses Join Lineup of Town Center Restaurants, Retail Shops
For shoppers and diners, there is now a new place to shop and soon there will be a new place to dine at the
Town Center.
Buff City Soap, which offers natural soaps and skin care products, recently opened its doors. The boutique shop is located next to Hollywood Feed.
And
Hoot's Righteous Wings, a fast-casual eatery serving wings, sandwiches, salads and seafood, is expected to open in the coming months. The restaurant is located next door to Buff City Soap.

Road Work & Sidewalk Installation Updates
Gwinnett County has several road improvements and sidewalk installation projects taking place in Peachtree Corners.
- S. R. 141 from Winters Chapel Road to Peachtree Corners Circle, watch for lane closure while new sidewalks are installed. Work will occur Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Spalding Drive from Winters Chapel Rd. to S.R. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Rd.) road widening project. Watch for intermittent lane closure and lane shifts for roadway improvement and bridge replacement. Work will be performed Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

New Traffic Signal on S.R. 141 at Engineering Drive
Georgia DOT installed a new traffic signal at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway (S.R. 141) and Engineering Drive which began functioning on June 3.
The new traffic signal is adjacent to the new RaceTrac convenience store which will be opening soon. This traffic signal is managed by Georgia DOT. Any questions regarding the timing of the signal should be directed to GDOT at (404) 631-1990.

respond online, by phone, or by mail
when you receive your invitation.
It is important that every Peachtree Corners household is counted. Knowing the number of people in our community ensures that we have adequate representation and can plan for important community needs like schools, roads, and hospitals.

Text If You Can’t
The Gwinnett County Police Department announced a new service, you can now send a text using 9-1-1 to report an emergency.
Text to 9-1-1 is intended primarily for use in three emergency scenarios:
.
1. For an individual who is deaf, hard-of-hearing, or has a speech disability.
2. For someone who is in a situation where it is not safe to place a voice call to 9-1-1.
3. A medical emergency that renders the person incapable of speech.

Our city is committed to its “Corners Connector” trail plan to connect neighborhoods and destinations and also provide residents and workers with additional recreational opportunities.

In-Person Voting During COVID-19
|
|
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gwinnett County is taking several steps to protect voters and poll
officials when voting in person either during advance voting or on Election Day.
Social distancing will be promoted throughout the process through line management and voting machine placement.
Voters are encouraged to wear a cloth face covering when they come to vote.
Poll officials will be provided with disinfecting spray and wipes, face masks, gloves, and face shields. Hand sanitizer will also be available
.

Where to Vote on June 9
For in-person voting Peachtree Corners voters should report to their regular polling location from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. This is a primary election to cast your vote for county, state and national ballots so there will be no voting at Peachtree Corners City Hall.

You can be tested for COVID-19 whether or not you are experiencing symptoms.
Appointments are required and can be scheduled Monday through Saturday; locations vary; referral from a doctor is not necessary. Call 770-513-5631 to schedule a day and time for an appointment.

Free Photo & Video Classes for Residents - Suspended
The city's free photo classes provided by Tytan Pictures are suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic and will resume at a later date.

Many of the planned city events scheduled for this spring including those planned for our new Town Green have temporarily been put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Do I Need Permit to Install HVAC System?
|
|
Yes you do, and there seems to be confusion on the part of some licensed HVAC contractors in this matter.
The City of Peachtree Corners, and the vast majority of other jurisdictions in the State of Georgia, require a permit for the installation of any HVAC equipment.
The logic behind the permit:
1.
It is the law. You are required by law to have a permit for the HVAC work done in your home. The HVAC contractor is required to be licensed by the state of Georgia.

Yard Waste and Bulk Pickup Guidelines
Yard Waste Service
Yard waste is offered on a subscription basis through Waste Management. Residents may place up to 10 bags, bundled limbs or the combination of the two at the curb for pickup
.
Service Schedule
Weekly. Place bags/limbs on the street by 6 a.m. on collection day.
Report a Missed Pickup
If bags and limbs were curbside by the specified time and were not collected report a missed pickup by Fill up Missed Pickup Form or call (888) 964-9730

Gwinnett County sewerage system is designed to dispose of very specific things: water, toilet paper and human waste.
Many things you may think are “flushable” do not disperse or break apart once they are in our sanitary sewer system.
What NOT to flush:
