I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say
ELW 332

In this season of Lent, may the words of this hymn continue to strengthen you for the journey, and keep you grounded in the restful embrace of Christ.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Come unto me and rest;
lay down, O weary one, lay down your head upon my breast."
I came to Jesus as I was, so weary, worn, and sad;
I found in him a resting place, and he has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Behold, I freely give
the living water, thirsty one; stoop down and drink and live."
I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life-giving stream;
my thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, "I am this dark world's light;
look unto me, your morn shall rise, and all your day be bright."
I looked to Jesus and I found in him my star, my sun;
and in that light of life I'll walk till trav'ling days are done.
Updated Congregational Resources During Public Health Concerns
shared by the ELCA on March 11

With the outbreaks of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the United States and around the world being classified as a pandemic, congregations and houses of worship need to be well-informed and well-prepared. The ELCA has developed resources that offer guidance as we minster to and engage with each other, and within our communities, as the body of Christ.
Find these resources at  ELCA.org/PublicHealth .

Information includes a congregational planning checklist, prayers, livestreaming recommendations and a resource for worship in times of public health concern.

Messages from Bishop Suarez, along with other resources are also posted on the FBSynod web site: https://fbsynod.com/mission-ministry/disaster-response/

TAKE AND EAT
By Elizabeth A. Eaton

This Lent, ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton reflects on Paul’s stormy journey to Rome and the Lord’s Supper. In her March column, she reminds us that our Lord’s holy meal is an act of faith, trust, love, strength for the journey, forgiveness and resistance—it’s an intimate communion with God and each other.

For Your Information
Still Time to Turn in Reports

We are still waiting for reports--the rostered ministers report, mission support covenant forms, and congregational parochial reports. These reports help the office of the bishop and the synod council in planning, strategizing, and supporting the variety of ways we do ministry together.

Forms can be found on the synod web site. Please contact the office if you have trouble accessing, downloading or submitting these forms.
Rostered Ministers--Boundaries Training

Rostered ministers a Boundaries Training class has been scheduled for May 7th at Trinity in Pembroke Pines. More information will be coming to you very shortly.
The expectation of the Bishop is that rostered ministers will attend or take  boundaries  training once every 3 years. Questions about this training or about the  boundaries  workshops offered in the synod can be sent to Connie Schmucker at  connies@fbsynod.org .
