In partnership with FortisBC's BUILT BETTER program, HAVAN and CHBA Fraser Valley are co-presenting the third full-day session in the four-part series,
A Holistic Approach to Improving Air Tightness.
 
This session will focus on windows, doors and curtain walls.  Hamid Heidarali of Hamid Design Build will take an in-depth exploration of air tightness in part 9 buildings, supported by 40 mobile building envelope assemblies and various applicable case studies for a hands-on workshop.

This seminar series features:
  • A holistic perspective towards the overall air tightness performance of the building envelope.
  • Various methods of improving air tightness in wood-framed buildings.
  • Air barrier selection process with the focus on improving thermal comfort, energy efficiency, moisture management, long-term performance, adaptability to future repair and renovation.
  • Effective air barrier detailing at the intersection between various building envelope assemblies, as well as around penetrations.
