Face Covering Required
Please remember that if you are in the building (volunteering, conducting church business, dropping things off, meetings, seeing a staff member - pretty much any situation!) that a face covering is required per Governor Evers' Emergency Order. Please wear your mask at all times when in common areas or in the church office.

Churches Being Targeted
We've received more news regarding scams that are going out to church members.

Please remember - we will NEVER solicit any sort of financial information or gift card request via personal/staff email or text. No gift cards, money transfers, etc. will ever be asked of our members. If you receive an email, please mark it as 'spam' in your email system and do not reply. For text messages, simply ignore them.

And remember to change your passwords frequently! :)
New Class Starting
"Gospel of John" (our next adult study) begins on October 22nd. It will remain virtual, available on the ELC website (password required - contact Pastor Johnson) or on CD at church. Our last three sessions have been careful studies of Jesus of Nazareth, the Apostle Paul, and Insights from the Master. The Gospel of John will contain historical, grammatical, and philosophical background information in addition to a careful examination of the 21 chapters of the gospel itself. Focus will be on key words and insights, and throughout this process we will be asking questions as we discover the implications of the text as well as focus upon how to apply the ideas gained from scriptures to daily life. As in our previous studies, context and careful analysis of the text will be primary with the anticipated outcome of a strong emphasis on faith formation and spiritual development. I invite you to join me! ~ Pastor Dennis Johnson
Adopt-A-Student
Each fall, we usually share a "getting to know you" card of our confirmation students. Our members are asked to pick up a card on Sundays and make a prayer and personal connection with that student.

Since we can't do that this year during COVID-19, we're asking those who want to "Adopt A Confirmation Student" to sign up online! Once you sign up, our staff will pair up a student with you and send you more information.

Zoom Event
Lifting Our Voices During the Pandemic
Tuesday, October 13, 2020 | 6:30 PM
The Event is Free and is Co-sponsored by East Central Synod Women of the ELCA and Lutheran Office for Public Policy in Wisconsin

Join us to discuss pressing issues in our communities, especially during COVID-19. What problems have been exacerbated by the pandemic? How can we use our voices as citizens and as people of God during this time? Special guests (TBA) and the staff of the Lutheran Office for Public Policy in Wisconsin will help you to gain practical ideas for how to advocate and offer time for you to share your concerns and questions. The event is one hour but people may also stay longer if they have questions that are not answered during the webinar. Links to resources will also be sent to you before the webinar. All are welcome!
A Note from Pastor Glen
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you for your prayers and may they continue. I saw my doctor on Monday and they put a scope down my throat yesterday. Nothing was found that was alarming with respect to my laryngitis. I was tested for coronavirus and thank God it was the second time I've tested negative.

There is some vocal cord swelling and perhaps it was some overuse, combined either with a virus or allergies (or both), that caused my voice loss on Sunday. My voice is better today, but not 100% yet, and the ENT doc said it would likely resolve itself within a few weeks, if I don't strain it again. I can speak normally in a quiet voice. I am getting a better microphone for my Zooms, and you may have to turn up your volume for a while.

Talk to you soon! (By Zoom, phone, livestream, or in person.)

~Pastor Glen Bickford

We are reading page 287 - introduction to section 5 and chapter 43 “Service." Each of the participants is to pick a chapter on our own in this section to read and bring to discussion.
