Every day we are given the great gift of seeing what God is up to in our world as we respond to Jesus' call to follow him and serve God's people and creation.

If you didn't have a chance yet, you can still return your 2023 Statement of Intent with the stamped envelope provided in the mailing you received. You may also enter your intent online or call Jennifer at 608.784.8876 x201 to give it over the phone.

Together, as we reach out with the Gospel to one another and to the community, the Lord will bring blessings to you!
We have received 204 Statements of Intent through January 27, totaling $597,557! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your generosity!
During the next few weeks we are highlighting some of the ministries of the ELCA for individuals with disabilities. The Evangelical Lutheran Deaf Association (ELDA), affiliated with the ELCA, tracks deaf ministries and provides links between ministries.

The ELDA is a national Lutheran organization of Deaf ELCA congregations, interpreted ministries, and their members which supports a core value of ASL and American Deaf Culture. ELDA advocates Deaf spirituality and empowerment, Deaf global missions and youth outreach, interpreter training, and hosts a biennial conference. To learn more about how this ministry impacts people, read the story of one deaf person and the welcoming ELCA church she found.

English Lutheran is hiring! Join our fun, dynamic team and work with some of the best Lutherans around.
The Children's Ministry Coordinator will facilitate the ways in which parents, sponsors, and the members of English Lutheran can live into the promises made at a child’s baptism, providing a good start at living a life of worship, encountering God’s Word, teaching children about Jesus, and nurturing a life of faith, working with children and families from birth-6th grade.
The Director of Faith Formation shall nurture meaningful, Christ-centered lives in our children, young people and their families, with a focus on Middle and High School youth and young adults. This person will assist in developing a culture in our congregation that supports growth in faith, discipleship, and fellowship. Click here to learn more about our open positions!
Winter is "bearable" with our new books!

ELC's Library Committee has new books for you to check out! Stop by the special display in the Fellowship Hall entry. There is self-checkout available, so stop by the display, or the Library at any time to find a good book to curl up with, or new story books for bedtime reading with the kids.
There is one more piece of Bethlehem to come down and be stored! The mural in the Fellowship Hall has been touched up by one of the original creators. Come by Saturday at 1:00pm to help dismantle the mural and get it back into storage. Questions? Email Pete Bemis.

The church's voicemail system has been down and we are currently working with our service provider to get it up and running again. If you have a pastoral care emergency such as a hospitalization, and it's outside of office hours, please use email or feel free to contact our mobile phones if you have those numbers.

Pastor's staff emails:

No one is untouched by life events that impact our day to day world. From the death of a loved one to the birth of a new child, each life event can leave us searching for a new normal. The Sunshine Ministry aims to make the search for that new normal a bit easier by offering a meal to those who could use just a little sunshine.

If you or another member of our community have experienced a life event, please do us the honor of allowing us to show you some love and care. You can contact the church office and let us know that you would like a call from the Sunshine Ministry. The Coordinator for this ministry will contact you to arrange getting a prepared meal onto your dining room table at your convenience. We are happy to take into consideration dietary needs and other requests.
A "life event" may include anything from a death in the family, the birth or adoption of a new child, recent divorce, family hospitalization, etc. As we strive to "be the hands" of God's loving arms, we're looking for volunteers who enjoy sharing their culinary talents with those who will certainly appreciate it! If you are interested in being on the list to prepare and deliver meals, please complete this interest form!
A “New to English Lutheran Church” Gathering is planned for Sunday, February 19, beginning at 12 noon. This gathering is geared for people who are newer to ELC and want to learn more about us. It is also for those who are interested in making ELC their church home and becoming a member. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Carol in the office or one of the pastors to sign-up or for more information.
As part of ELC’s commitment to support Monday Ministries at Trinity Lutheran, we hope some of our members will volunteer on Monday evenings. Currently MM needs helpers in the Food Pantry from 3:00- 5:30pm. Volunteers will help unload food from vehicles, transfer food to the pantry, unpack and sort food, and then fill bags for distribution. This means you will have to do some lifting. If you are interested in being part of this ministry, or helping with the clothes closets or the Monday meal program, a sign-up sheet is available at the Welcome Center, or you can contact the office, Kathy Weeks, or Ann Kvale.
It's that time again-it's "Soup-er" Bowl Sunday! Bring in your canned soups or other non-perishable food items by February 12th and show which team you want to see win! All items will be donated to WAFER.
The Annual Meeting of the congregation of English Lutheran Church is Sunday, February 12 at noon.

Voting members are active, confirmed members of the church.

Annual Reports are available at the Welcome Center beginning this weekend, or can be found online.
