ELC’s Re-Opening Team guides decisions for our congregation based on guidance from our local and national health experts, and upon Jesus’ instruction to love our neighbors. Because of rapidly changing conditions and updates from the CDC and WI Department of Health being released on Thursdays, it’s difficult to get communication out to our congregation in time for worship. Therefore, we ask that you check our current COVID risk level before attending church.
Current Risk: MEDIUM
updated 09/08/22 3:25pm
  • High risk: masks are required for anyone in our building over the age of 2
  • Medium risk: masks are not required, but encouraged especially for those at high risk for severe illness, or around someone who is at high risk for severe illness
  • Low risk: it is not necessary to wear a mask unless you choose

Please remember that if you are serving communion, that masks are required no matter the risk level.
God's Work. Our Hands. Service Sunday is September 11 - and it is an ELCA Churchwide Event! This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the ELCA - one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ, every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life, flows freely from a living, caring confidence in God's grace. We are asking that you USE YOUR HANDS to participate in these endeavors!
It’s football season again and time to see where our loyalties are! The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings face off on Sunday, September 11. Are you a loyal Packer fan? Or a forever Viking fan? No matter which one - you can show your support of the WAFER Food Bank by bringing in non-perishable food items by Sunday, September 11. Place your items in the designated area to show your support of the Packers or the Vikings. (There is an “I don’t care!” area too.) In the end, WAFER wins!!
ELC is part of the annual “Pride in the Park” on Saturday, September 10 at Riverside Park from 11am-6pm. The Evangelism Council and RIC Team put together a display for this year’s event. Stop by and see us!
Help our unhoused siblings in Christ through the mobile outreach of WINN (What I Need Now). Bring men's tube socks (single pair or package) for our homeless ministry with WINN. Sue Graf from WINN will be at church between services with the new homeless outreach van to talk about her ministry and the needs she has for help and assistance.
Adopt a Sunday School or Confirmation Class! Use your gifts to pray for our students, write encouraging notes, bring treats to class, or any other ideas you have to support our young people that are growing in faith.
Important Update Regarding Children’s Ministries and Meals on Wednesday Nights:

Thank you to those of you who have offered to help with our Children’s ministries! We still are in need of people to help coordinate and oversee children’s ministries on Wednesday nights including the Christlers program for elementary school-aged children and the nursery for younger children.

Unfortunately, at this time, we will not be able to offer Christlers or nursery care on Wednesday nights. Parents will need to make other arrangements for their child’s care while at church for music ministries or small groups.

In addition, there will be no meals on Wednesday nights as we have not been able to fill the kitchen coordinator position.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that we can find people to fill these important ministry roles soon. We will let you know when these ministries return.

If you are interested in helping out on Wednesday nights, please contact Pastor Mark, Pastor Becky or Kristen.

Your church library is having a Big Book Giveaway from September 10-18. There will be books for children, youth and adults. Plan to pick up some good reading (there will be no limit on the number of books you take 😊). The books will be located in the hallway between the Narthex and Fellowship Hall.
Now that Fall has arrived it's time to resume the final part of our study of the Gospel of John. We will be meeting for the time being in the Fellowship Hall. The time, as always, will be the same - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. If you know of anyone who hasn't been a part of our study but might like a rather detailed examination of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, please invite them to join us! So, our study will resume on Thursday Sept. 22nd at 6:30 p.m., and as always it will be posted online for those unable to be there. Looking forward to seeing you! ~Pr. Dennis Johnson
