| | | | The parking lot has stripes! And new lights! AND IT'S OPEN FOR USE! We will go back to using the doors that are regularly open for worship services, and using the parking lot entry as our main entrance for business hours. The new ADA bathroom is off to a great start. The contractors hope to have the new ADA all-gender restroom open for use before closing down the narthex bathrooms. The nursery bathroom will also be completed in conjunction with the remodel of the old bathrooms. Check out photo progress. | | | | | |

Announcements at worship should be kept to 150 words (about a minute in length), and direct people to find more information in the E-Voice, newsletter, at the Welcome Center. You can also use voice@englishlutheran.org to also send information for the weekly E-Voice, or the church newsletter that is published every other month. | | | | | Our confirmation program is being reimagined and the new vision includes YOU! Mentors are an important part of youth ministry. Consider participating alongside one of our youth. Sign up at the Welcome Center or ask Jared, Emily Farmer, Scott Gabriel, or Bonnie Martin to share more about how you can be involved. | | | | | Quilters begins their full group again this September and they invite you to join them! No experience is necessary - you don't even have to know how to sew! Quilters will show you how to tie, and they also need people to help to iron fabric. Join in the ministry on Tuesday mornings beginning September 8 from 8:45-11:45am, complete with a coffee break with dear friends. Quilters meet every Tuesday until Memorial Day (time off for holidays). Contact Sharon Odahl with any questions, or just show up! Quilters are also in need of sheets for the quilt backings.
As a new school year approaches, we wanted to highlight the important work of campus ministry. Pastor Kathryn Thompson from LuMin graciously shares the following:

Please sign up here or at the Welcome Center at worship. Bring cookies to the church office by 10:00am on Tuesday, September 22. Please use ice cream buckets/containers you don't mind not getting back, and label any cookies that contain nuts, are gluten-free, etc. This is a great way to show our love for our college students!

We are building a dedicated volunteer group to help out in the kitchen on Wednesdays. Our hope is two have two people each Wednesday evening to prep, serve, wash dishes, and clean up after. Time commitment is from about 4:00-8:00, and can be done in shifts! If you are interested, contact Jennifer or sign up at the Welcome Center for more information! We're looking to build a good volunteer base and figure out logistics from there. Any help, at any time, is appreciated though!
Note: the kitchen is also in need of ice cream buckets *with lids*! If you have any at home, please leave them in the kitchen.

After prayerful deliberation, the Vision Board is calling a Congregational Meeting on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4 to form our Call Committee. Note: this is a change from the date that was printed in our September/October newsletter.
The Vision Board will present a slate of candidates for the Call Committee to the congregation for approval. Forming a Call Committee is an exciting and significant moment for us as a congregation in this seasons of transition. Please join us!
| | | | | Gospel of Matthew Study – Part II meets at 2:00pm on Thursdays in the South Hall! All are welcome. If you missed Part One please join us on the 10th for a summary of Part One – as a “catch up” or as a review for those who attended Part One. You can also listen on-line through the ELC website. Any questions, or need the website password? Contact our wonderful instructor, Rev. Dennis C. Johnson, Ph.D. | | | | | Due to the ongoing construction project, the nursery will be temporarily relocated to Room 104 for the duration of the project. We do our best to staff the nursery during the summer, but even if no one is there, please feel free to utilitize it with your little ones if they need a break from worship! We also created a "Little Lutheran" space right outside the sanctuary with activity bags, books, and sensory toys (for all ages!) in the narthex. | | | | | It's that time of the year for our first PACK of the school year! (PACK = Pre-confirmation Activities at Church for Kids). On September 11, 4th/5th/6th graders will meet at Walsh Golf Center for mini golf. Register here, and if your child would like to bring a friend, please register them too!
