Happy and Blessed Easter! What a joyful noise we heard emanating from our Sanctuary this past Sunday! Thank you for your presence and worship! Sunday School will meet this Sunday in the Friendship Hall and BASE Life (youth group) will meet after worship at Black Rock Coffee Shop over in the Safeway complex. I’ve really enjoyed the coffee/youth events that we have had the past couple of weeks, and I’m looking forward to this week’s session. Hope to see our youth there!
This Saturday at 11 am is the funeral mass for Vanessa and Gus Ayala’s 17-year-old son, Noah Giovani. Vanessa is on our preschool office staff. Please keep Vanessa and her family in your prayers.
One week from Saturday, we invite you to attend the NE Valley Consortium Event on “Loneliness: How to live and serve faithfully to those within our community” with presenter Rev. Dr. Colleen Windham-Hughes, Associate Vice President for Mission, and Identity at California Lutheran University. To register for free, please go to: https://forms.gle/B1w3iGwvLwtkwtV36 by April 5, 2024. Space is limited. Please email NEVCevent@lwlcaz.org with questions.
Let’s go to Emmaus this Sunday and see how Jesus is revealed to those who know a lot about the faith, but still have doubts and questions. If you are reading ahead, take a look at Luke 24:13-35 as we ponder the theme: “Get up and Walk or Lay Here and Die!”
Next Sunday we will begin a new Sermon Series on the Seven Churches from the book of Revelation. Each church has unique ministry gifts and opportunities and congregational challenges. Let’s see what we can learn from these early churches for our life together today.
