Thank you for your prayers for our granddaughter Goldie as she had her second open-heart surgery on Monday. It was more extensive than they had planned but they were able to successfully complete the repairs (and others). She gave us all a good scare on Tuesday evening, but through prayer and the gift of medical science her heart has stabilized, on its own. If you are not following but would like to catch up on the story of her medical care, you can read Katelyn and Stephen’s blog, www.heartofgoldie.blog as they continually update their reflections on her surgery and recovery. Again, thank you for your faithfulness in praying for Goldie!
And thank you for your prayers for Alex, Annie, Francis and JJ! Alex had his surgery two weeks ago tomorrow. He is recovering at home, and we continue to pray for his healing. Annie, Francis, and JJ continue to need our prayers as well, with lots of viruses going around, to keep them all as healthy as possible. For that reason, we ask you to please restrict your visits to see Alex until he is further along in his recovery. We don’t want to complicate his surgery with other illnesses. Thank you for your understanding.
This Sunday we will gather as we continue to study the life of Jonah and the implications for our discipleship today. Sunday, we will focus on “The Sacrifice!” as we read Jonah 1: 11-16. Prayer is an important part of this sacrifice, but you might be surprised as to who is actually praying! After worship, BASE Life will meet, and I will be teaching our Baptism Class. If you or anyone you know is interested in having a child/grandchild baptized, please join us for this class. We will talk about it biblically/theologically as well as some of the practical aspects of baptism, like how to choose sponsors. Please let me know if you would like to come!
Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday!
