Luke 3:15-17, 21-22

In-person and Live Stream to Facebook and YouTube at 10:30 AM

Good evening friends!

Happy New Year! Have you made any New Year resolutions? If you have, let me invite you to consider adding reading your Bible to your list. If you are familiar with the Gospels, start with the Book of Acts. It’s better than any fictional novel that you might read this year. And I can affirm that it will encourage you in your daily walk with Jesus.

This coming Sunday afternoon from 4-8 pm, we are meeting for our New Member Class. If you are interested in becoming a member of New Covenant or learning more about it, please email me and I can add you to the class.

If you are traveling from the west side of the 101 to worship this weekend, a friendly note that Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. will be closed this weekend under the State Route 101 for road construction. This Sunday is “Baptism of our Lord” Sunday. We will look at Luke 3:15-17, 21-22. I will also refer to the second New Testament reading, from the Book of Acts in chapter 8. Remember my comment about the book of Acts reading like a novel? Why not try it out in chapter 8? Our theme will be “Receive the Holy Spirit!”

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Pastor Steve

Welcome back and welcome in 2025! Crazy to think that Y2K is such a distant memory, and we are a quarter of a way through this century already. The beauty and renewal that the new year brings is something that is unmatched. This year, I find myself very happy to leave 2024 in the past. It was anything but a celebratory Christmas break for our family, and I am more than happy to be back at work and in my routine. This year, however, is set to be nothing near routine. The outlook that I have right now is one of hope, change, newness, growth, expansion, love, and missional community. I see so much excitement for Jesus and our relationships in our future here at New Covenant in the coming year! The faith-filled exhilaration that will pour out of our walls and into our community and our households is going to be incredible! It is enthusiasm that will fill hearts and homes and bring the word and promises of God in ways that many never dreamt possible. I am thrilled to be a part of all that God has in store for us and cannot wait to take this journey with all of you!

I pray with our congregation and our school community for solidarity in our missions, and for each individual household to be blessed by our work. May our reach be far and our love be expansive, and may we be faithful listeners as we obey God in these weeks and months to come. I thank Jesus for the individuals that He has placed in our lives that will help navigate His mission and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of all that we do every day at New Covenant.

Happy New Year in 2025! It’s going to be a Century Changer for our Christ centered community!

Ms. Dana
