Good afternoon friends,
I shared with those in worship last Sunday that we ended April in a severe financial hole. We were nearly $14,000.00 behind on our budget at the end of April. For this reason, the Board has been developing a “Get out of Red!” matching fund.
The Board and a handful of leaders from the church have pledged $8,200.00 for matching funds. That means that they are challenging the congregation to give at least $8,200.00. If we do so as a congregation, they will give their matching funds. But if we don’t make it, they are not obligated to give their pledge. So, I want to invite you and challenge you to give so that we can receive the full $8,200.00 in matching funds.
This is how we will do it. We have pledge/donation cards to distribute for you to make your gift/donation or your pledge. You can also send a pledge into Bri at the office by emailing her at office@newcovenantaz.org and place your name and your donation/pledge amount in the email. Whether you give in person or give online, please ensure you fill out your donation/pledge card or send an email so that we can make sure to include your gift towards the matching funds.
As I mentioned last Sunday, we want to be able to pay staff and pay our bills through the lean summer months so we will need help from every one of you! Patti and I have joined the matching fund, so we are committed to seeing the church erase the red ink! I hope that you will join us as we “Get out of Red!”
Join me this Sunday as we gather for worship. I know we are not doing our 4th Sundays over the summer, but we will have a good old-fashioned hymn sing this Sunday, so plan to join us as we sing some old favorites! Our scripture will be Matthew 5: 21-43 as we look at the promise of “Jesus Heals!”
