This Sunday's Theme:

"Sardis: A Wake Up Call!"

Revelation 3:1-6

In-person and Live Stream to Facebook and YouTube at 10:30 AM

Good afternoon church!

Today is Ascension Day and we celebrate Jesus’ return to his home – heaven. But this is not a day of sadness! It is a day of Joy! Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you and me. Jesus has redeemed you from your sins and from the grave; and Jesus will be with you always! How can we be sure of that? Because Jesus had told his disciples that he would be sending his Holy Spirit so that we would never, ever be alone. Ten days from today, we will be celebrating Pentecost – the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I invite you to pray with me and the New Covenant prayer team, that God would send his Holy Spirit upon us to empower us to witness to Jesus’ death and resurrection!  How did Jesus change your life? What circumstance did God use? Whom have you told? Did you ever talk with your children or grandchildren about it? Is it too late? Will you pray for the Holy Spirit to encourage us to speak about Jesus?

This week we move onto Sardis, the 5th city in “The Seven Churches.” In Revelation, we hear that Sardis was a Christian community, but that they had fallen asleep. They were dead – without life.

Under the quarterback, “Scramblin’ Fran Tarkenton”, I grew up watching the Minnesota Vikings play in four Super Bowls. They lost every time. You might say that we had some life in the team, back in the day. But we have not even been close to a Super Bowl in recent years. Are the Minnesota Vikings dead? You get my point?

The church in Sardis, was alive, but really, it was dead – fallen asleep. Have we ever felt that way about our faith? Perhaps it’s not as important to us as it once was?

Join us this Sunday as we look at Sardis in Revelation 3: 1-6 to see how Jesus wants us to wake up!

I hope you have had a fantastic Ascension Day! “Rejoice, again I say rejoice!” Hope to see you this Sunday.
