Dear {First Name}

With the arrival of the New Year, I wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to our donors, our compassionate wildlife-loving advocates, our volunteers, and our staff. It takes all of us working together to make the world a better place for all of our wild neighbours.

I’m also really excited to share some key numbers from 2025 with you. Honestly, your support has made a huge difference, and you can see it in the stats below!

•
In 2025, we provided care to an impressive total of 6,770 patients from more than 250 different species.

• June 18th was our busiest day of the year -- we admitted over 80 patients.

• June was also our busiest month, our intake average was 45 wild animals each day (yes, that's 1,350 animals)!

• In July we had an average of 600 patients in care... each and every day.

• Approx. 54% of our intakes were mammals; 45% birds and 1% reptiles and amphibians.

• Average length of stay was 30 days.

Every day you help us fulfill our mission to alleviate suffering -- and for that, you have our undying gratitude.

All the best to you & yours in 2026!

Fisher release after months and months in care!

FIRST PATIENT OF 2026

It's a tradition here at SOH to bet on what the first animal admitted in the New Year will be. We had 4 votes for a RODO (that's what we call Rock Doves); 2 votes for a skunk; 3 votes for a Barred Owl and another 3 votes for a MODO (Mourning Dove). And at 10 a.m. on January 1st, Monty came through our doors (with his rescuer) suffering from puncture wounds -- probably a predator attack. Monty's prognosis is guarded as these injuries were pretty severe, but we're all pulling for him!

Congrats to JJ, Tyler and Kate for guessing correctly! There's no prize, just bragging rights!

YOUR IMPACT!

Your generosity makes every meal served, every animal nursed back to health, every life-saving surgery, and each wildlife release possible. We sincerely appreciate your support — none of this could happen without you.
