Hey wasn't STEAM Night fun? Great to see so many students and families come out to enjoy the science projects, work and activities. Thanks to everyone who participated, in every way!

Think the year is passing quickly? You're intermittently correct. Wonder where the time goes? Yes, so do we all. Perhaps a visual reminder will help. Thus we remind you of the the timeless utility of the yearbook.

Are you or your child interested in learning to play or brushing up on some chess skills? The chess club will meet every other Friday in the school library from 12:45 to 2:15. 2nd through 6th graders are welcome to stay after school for the club. Interested kinder and 1rst graders may join if they bring their adult. Chess players should be picked up promptly from school at 2:15 on the Fridays the club meets. The first two meetings will be Feb. 24 and Mar. 10.

If your child is interested in joining, please email Mark Galassi at mark@galassi.org with your child's grade and your cell phone number for the emergency contact list. If you are able to volunteer to help (no chess skills necessary) let him know as well.

CGE is currently recruiting coaches: COACH-RECRUITMENT-SPR-2023. Please contact head coach Theresa Martinez at 505-690-4428 for more information. Coaches are required to participate in an online course prior to a four-hour in-person training. At least one coach is required to have CPR and First Aid training.

Program registration for girls opens on February 15 on a first-come, first-served basis (max limit is 20 girls per team).

"Girls on the Run is an all-volunteer organization providing an after-school program for girls in 3rd through 5th grade. We are an independent chapter of a nationally recognized organization, Girls on the Run International. We provide a curriculum-based program that promotes self-esteem and healthy living and includes running and other activities. We coach girls in the program to train for and run a local 5K race."

Oh books! Board books and picture books, poetry, fiction, biographies, collections of comics, dictionaries, magazines, classics, fresh-off-the-press publications -- there are so many wonderful things to read. Whether a solo reading adventure or a shared, read aloud experience, there's a world of wonderful out there. Read, read out loud, read to and with all ages, and read all the time!

The one of a kind tie-die tshirts were hand-dyed by a couple of awesome PTK volunteers and are available in a nice range of sizes.

There are terrific baseball caps and some wild color-changing cups. Chilly lately? Pick up a nice Blackhawks zipper sweatshirt!

The St. Michael's High School Basketball Team is playing on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 and this game will honor Michaelann Perea. Michaelann's sons Caleb and Jayden play on the team and her husband Israel is the JV Coach. Coincidentally, it’s two days after her birthday. As you know, Michaelann was a huge part of the Carlos Gilbert community and the folks at St. Michael's would like to give everyone the opportunity to come out and support her loving family.

The team has been selling MP shirts as a fundraiser. On the front you will see MP with a heart over the left chest and D UP! on the back; that was Michaelann's cheer! She could always get the crowd going.
