Parent Input for School Year 2024-25

If you would like to provide parent input on your child's classroom placement for the 2024-25 school year, please email Ms. Pietrocci... at kpietrocci@sfps.k12.nm.us and explain your child's learning style, strengths, and social emotional needs no later than Friday April 26, 2024.

The staff will roster students based on gender, academic ability, behavior, Special Education needs, English language learner needs, and parent input.

Due to the importance of creating balanced classrooms, not all parent recommendations can be fulfilled. In addition, teacher assignments have not been finalized.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher appreciation week is fast approaching. There are a few ways you can participate and show your love for our teachers. Below are two sign-ups for you to peruse and help out.

Teacher Appreciation Coffee Cart: 8:00-10:30am May 6th, 2024

Teacher Appreciation Potluck Luncheon: 1 - 2 pm: Friday, May 10, 2024

Teacher Appreciation Sidewalk Chalk: May 5th

Swing by the school on May 5th and leave messages and drawings of appreciation for our teachers and staff! What a wonderful way to kick off teacher appreciation week on Monday morning by greeting our teachers with beautiful words and drawings! The PTK will provide the chalk all you need to do is swing by the school sometime that day and grab a piece of chalk and get drawing.

About the PTK

The Carlos Gilbert PTK is a dedicated group of Parents, Teachers, and Kids working to raise money, support the classrooms, and encourage our kids. We help keep our Blackhawk spirits soaring high!

Next Meeting:

April 24, 2024, at 8:15 am in the teachers' lounge. Can't attend in person? Join via Zoom.

The last meeting will be on May 15.

The PTK is looking for new Board Members for the 2024-25 school year. Open positions include: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
