Concern America Craft Sale
On Sunday, June 9, St. Luke Life, Justice and Peace Ministry is hosting a Concern America craft sale. Artisan craft and gifts will be available for you to purchase after all the Masses on Sunday only. These unique, quality handcrafts provide us with the opportunity to purchase ethically.
This year there are many new beautifully handcrafted textiles, ceramics, and wood products from Bangladesh, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico that honor indigenous traditions. When you purchase a Concern America product, you are providing a source of income to materially impoverished communities while allowing artisans to achieve financial stability through gainful, safe, and digni-fied work.
Concern America is an international development organization based in Santa Ana, CA, that builds capacity in health care, clean water, education, and economic opportunities. Visit www.concernamerica.org to learn more about their work and view a selection of their crafts.

Your Gifts Support Our Parish
Our thanks to the many generous individuals and families of our parish!
These gifts benefit the parish in so many ways, including helping to meet everyday expenses for liturgy, faith formation, and operations. For your convenience, gifts may be made several ways:
Envelope Users: Offertory envelopes can be placed in collection baskets during weekend Masses, mailed to the Parish Office, or dropped in the office mailbox.
Online Donations: Click here to give electronically one-time or make a recurring gift.
May God Bless You and Your Family for Your Continued Generosity!

Archdiocesan Priest Retirement Fund
Next weekend, June 8-9, all parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will be asked to give generously to support the Retirement Fund for Archdiocesan Priests. Currently, the fund provides for more than 100 priests who are retired. In the years to come, that number is expected to increase significantly. With minimal compensation, and in many cases, no pensions, these men often retire with nothing to fall back upon.
Your contributions can change that. The Priest Retirement Fund offers us a way to give back to our Catholic priests who have served us so faithfully. Your contribution will help archdiocesan priests live modestly and peacefully in retirement.
Help us offer thanks for their years of devotion to God and faithful service to our parish communities. Envelopes are in the pews and can be placed in the regular collection basket. Please make checks payable to “St. Luke Church.” Thank you for your generosity.

A “Must See” Movie -
Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.” -John 6:53-54
Fr. Edward Looney, STL, pastor, author and podcaster, writes, “Deep within each human soul, there exists an intense craving for connection, purpose, and love — a thirst that only God can satisfy. Yet, the question remains: How does one fulfill this yearning? The Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist is the most profound means by which God shares Himself with humanity. However, a 2019 Pew Research Study unveiled a concerning reality: only one-third of practicing U.S. Catholics believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.”
The movie, Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist, in theaters June 4, 5 and 6, takes us on a global journey to rediscover and revive the transformative power of the Eucharist. The film explores the biblical roots of the Eucharist. It shares personal stories of individuals whose lives have been transformed by the Blessed Sacrament. In viewing the movie, it becomes unmistakably clear that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol but is truly Jesus Christ Himself — fervently desiring to quench our spiritual thirst with His boundless love.
Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist is produced by Deacon Steve Greco, permanent deacon in the Diocese of Orange and founder of Spirit Filled Hearts Ministry, and James E. Wahlberg, producer, writer, and director of films, including Mother Theresa: No Greater Love. The movie is written and directed by Tim Moriarty and Stefan Slovak. The cast includes Most Rev. Andrew Cozzens, Eduardo Verastegui, Chris Stefanick, Dr. Scott Hahn, Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, Most Rev. Kevin Vann, Fr. Chris Alar, Fr. Robert Spitzer, SJ, and many others.
You can view the trailer, read more information about the movie, see the full cast, and find a theater and showtimes at the Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist website, https://jesusthirstsfilm.com/. You can also find a local theater (in Arcadia, Alhambra and Covina, to name a few) and purchase tickets at https://www.fathomevents.com/events/jesus-thirsts-the-miracle-of-the-eucharist/.
“Jesus Thirsts is a compelling cinematic teaching about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. After watching, a viewer cannot walk away without believing in the true presence.” -Fr. Edward Looney
Do you know someone who needs to hear this message? Invite them to join you on June 4th, 5th or 6th at one of our local movie theaters. Let us fill the theaters!
Jesus,
I believe that you are truly present
In the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.
Every day I long for more of You.
My Lord and my God,
Draw me close to You,
Nearer than ever before.
Amen.
~St. Luke Life, Justice and Peace Ministry
