Iowa New Jobs and Training Program: A Closer Look
You’ve probably heard of the Iowa New Jobs Training Program and Iowa Jobs Training. But if you've ever wondered what these programs are and what purpose they serve, keep reading to learn more.

The Iowa New Jobs Training Program (also known as 260E) is a state economic development program. This jobs training program incentivizes companies to expand their workforce in the state by allowing companies to leverage a portion of Iowa withholding taxes to offset the cost of training and up-skilling of new employees. A partner job training economic development program called Iowa Jobs Training (also known as 260F) is a state sponsored program designed to assist Iowa businesses with the training and development of their existing employees. These job training programs are administered through Iowa’s community colleges. Kirkwood Community College has administered the 260E and 260F programs since 1985.

Economic development programs such as 260E/260F leverage the community college’s rich history in workforce development. With unemployment rates low and an aging workforce population, these job training programs are vital to Iowa’s economy. The 260E and 260F programs keep Creative Corridor businesses competitive in today’s global talent market by leveraging resources while maximizing the productivity of their workforce.
