Principal's  Letter

Timberlin Creek Families,

Harlem Wizards Basketball Game
I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to the PTO and the teachers of TCES for an amazing basketball game this past Saturday. Many families that attended said this was such an enjoyable family event. The students were cheering for our staff as they competed against these professional basketball players. Our families were definitely entertained with the Wizards mix of dribbling, shooting and dunking skills while helping to raise money for our school.

End of the Year Classroom Functions
As the end of the year approaches, I would like to send a reminder to ensure each member of your family has completed the School Access form. If this form is not completed in advance of school functions, family members will not be able to attend the end of the year events. Take a moment and complete the online School Access form on our school website or https://stjohns.keepntrack.com/apply .

PTO Funds for the 2015-2016 School Year Update
The funds raised this school year from the PTO have gone towards the purchase of an outdoor seating area. With your support of our Boosterthon Fun Run, Square One Art, Harlem Wizards, spirit wear, scorecards, and PTO memberships we were able to purchase 5 tables with shade structures attached that will each seat 6. This will allow for an additional 30 seats for our families to enjoy lunch with their child for the upcoming school year. Thank you for supporting our PTO and TCES. If you are interested in joining the PTO board and heading up one of the amazing events they offer our families, please email Pam Strub at pjstrub3@aol.com .

Last Day of School
The last day of school for students will be Thursday, May 26. This is an early release day and we will dismiss students at 1:50. In order for your child to receive their report card, they must attend school on the last day. If your child is not able to attend school, we ask that you pick up your child's report card after Tuesday, May 31.

Car Loop and Bus Loop Changes
Once we come back to school for the 2016-2017 school year, we are flipping the bus loop and car loop. This will help alleviate traffic off 210 and create a safe arrival and dismissal process for our families and staff. Please be sure to pay close attention to areas where you are allowed to park and the traffic flow pattern when we return in August. Thank you for your continued support as we grow with our community.

Your Learning Leader,
Mrs. Hemingway

TCE Coaches Say "Thank You"

Thank You TCE Families
WOW!!  We want to thank all of the TCE students and families that made us feel so special last week.  Your generosity was absolutely overwhelming.  All of the cards, flowers, pens, pencils, sticky notes, sunscreen, gift cards, water bottles, snacks and other special gifts are so appreciated.  They will all be put to good use.  It is our honor and privilege to teach your children.  Thank you also to PTO.  You are amazing.  Everything was wonderful.  We are so blessed to be a part of the TCE family.

Thank you again to EVERYONE - Coach Anderson, Coach Lane and Coach Yanchik

Summer Reading Challenge

Blast off with the summer reading challenge! TCE's reading requirement during the school year and summer is to read 4 or more days a week. This adds up to 40 days this summer! Your child's new teacher (1st through 5th grade) will expect a reading log to be turned in at the start of the school year. A summer reading packet will be sent home during the last week of school. Students receive prizes for each level of reading they achieve. Please help avoid the summer slide and encourage  your child to reach his/her goal of reading at least 40 days over the summer.
* Copies of the summer reading program will also be posted on the media center website.
Thank you,

CAA Soccer Fall Registration

Field of Dreams Soccer
Creeks Athletics Association
CAA Families,

As many of you know, Creeks Athletics Association (CAA) has been the partnered provider of St. John's County for youth athletics in the Northwest for 20 plus years.

We have over 4500 families and more than 700 volunteers participating in 15 different sports including baseball, softball, lacrosse, wrestling, track and field and special needs baseball (Field of Dreams) to name a few.  Many of you are volunteers who have dedicated countless hours and years building our program
into one of the most recognized community organization in St Johns County and the State of Florida.

With regards to our youth soccer program, what we originally thought was a partnership turned into a complete takeover of our program.  This year our soccer board was suddenly disbanded, our bank accounts were moved, our web site was taken and many of our recreation players were displaced out of Veterans Park.

Creeks Recreational Soccer will return as it was for the past 20 years.  We are committed to providing the recreational soccer needs of St Johns county residents in our area.

We commit the following:
  • High level of recreational soccer all taking place at Veterans Park.  We have all the permits on file.
  • Affordable costs for our player:  Uniforms included in the cost of registration.
  • No more on-line stores to purchase your uniform at an additional cost.  And if we receive a sponsorship on the uniforms, we commit to lowering the registration price.
  • Teams can stay together... bring your entire rec recreational team over, we are very experienced at making that work.
  • The club will be built on volunteers.  If we do hire people it will be cost effective. An audit of the books showed over $800,000 in salaries with the previous club, with a proposed budget of $1.1 million in 2016.  We promise to never let this happen again.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.  We are working very hard to return the recreational club back to the mission of CAA and the county.  The Club will run just like the other 2 recreational clubs in the St. Johns County and we will fulfill the mission of the county and CAA.

As expected registrations have already started to come in at a brisk pace.  Please help us spread the word that CAA recreation soccer is back at Veterans Park.

Please go to the website to register and find out more or email caasoccer123@gmail.com
