Please make sure you have completed the yellow pre-registration form for the upcoming school year that came home with your child. If you did not receive a form from your child's teacher, please contact Tracy Collins in the front office. If you know you are moving out of our school zone, please make sure to notify Mrs. Collins. It is imperative that we have accurate student counts so we are able to staff our school appropriately. With this being said, if you have neighbors that are moving into our area, please let them know how important it is that they register with us as soon as possible.
End of the Year Classroom Functions
As the end of the year approaches, I would like to send a reminder to ensure each member of your family has completed the School Access form. If this form is not completed in advance of school functions, family members will not be able to attend the end of the year events. Goodwill Bag It Up
Thank you to all of our families for the Goodwill donations. We were able to fill 17 of their large bins which filled the back of their truck. Based on the donations of our amazing students, we were able to earn $1,000 for our school from Goodwill. Way to go Timberlin Eagles!
Parent Input Forms
We are in the process of gathering information for student placement for the upcoming school year. If you would like to provide information about the way in which your child learns best, please visit our school website under the Registration link. Please remember that specific teacher requests cannot be honored for any grade level. The purpose of this form is to provide us with valuable information in helping to determine the best learning environment for your child for the upcoming school year.
FSA Testing Dates
Florida Standards Assessments were developed to measure student success with the new Florida State Standards adopted in 2014 and were implemented into instruction this past school year. Please mark your calendars for the following dates and ensure that your third, fourth, or fifth grade student is at school on time during this assessment window. Please do not plan any scheduled absences on these dates.
Please remember that during testing days the campus is closed to all visitors.
This includes volunteering in classrooms/media center or eating lunch with your child. As much as we appreciate our families assisting in the classrooms or in the media center as well as eating lunch as a special occasion, we must value a quiet and uninterrupted testing environment for all of our students on each testing date listed below. We appreciate your support with these dates and know that our students are prepared and will do well on the state assessments.

It's that time of year when we can use your support for state and district testing! Per St Johns County School District policy, we are required to have a proctor in all classrooms during all state (FSA) and district (DE) assessments. This has created an immense need for proctors this school year. Please consider volunteering your time for one or more days and time slots as a proctor for testing.
Additionally, we have orange Signup sheets located in the front office, or you may email me with any dates and times that you are available. (Lisa.Coppedge@stjohns.k12.fl.us)
A few reminders:
1. Per district and state policy, you may not proctor for your child's class.
2. You will need to complete a short proctor training and sign a security agreement.

Important Dismissal Procedures
Dismissal is at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. School dismisses ONE HOUR EARLY EVERY WEDNESDAY at 1:50 p.m.
For the safety of all of our students, parents are asked to call in all transportation changes no later than one half-hour before dismissal (2:15 p.m. / 1:15 p.m). In addition, students that will be leaving early must be checked out one half-hour prior to dismissal. This allows us to disseminate this new information to all of the applicable parties and ensure that your child reaches his/her correct destination safely. Thank you for helping us keep your child safe!

BEYOND THE BELL - EXTENDED DAY UPDATES
- To secure a spot in the Beyond the Bell Program for 2016-17, the registration fee as well as the first full month of August is due on or before Monday, April 11th . Rates for 2016-2017 will not increase. Click here for the registration form.
- ALL students must be signed in AND out from Extended Day every day. Parents are required to walk their child in and sign them in every morning and walk in and sign them out in the evening.
- Drivers are asked to park in empty non-reserved parking spaces in our parking lot. Reserved parking spaces on the far end of the building are there for the use and safety of staff that must arrive/depart in the dark.
- All payments for Beyond the Bell are due on or before the 15th of each month.
- We are unable to provide services after 6:00 p.m. Please have a backup person on your list that we may contact if you are unable to pick up your child by 6:00 pm.

For the safety of our students and all visitors to our campus, 24-hour video cameras (interior and exterior) are in use on our campus.
We must ask that you NOT park in the reserved parking spots. These must be available for the staff that are here late at night.
Student Drop Off/Pick-Up
Safety is our first concern! Please be conscious of the safest method of letting your child exit from your vehicle. For the safety of your child, our staff, and our safety patrol students, it is advisable to have your child exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Students, parents and visitors are not allowed to videotape, photograph or make audio recordings while on school premises except for Open House and public events
(including plays, musicals, fairs, fundraiser raisers, and awards/recognitions.) All recording devices must be turned off at school. The purpose of this general rule is to foster an appropriate educational environment, prevent unwarranted disclosure of student images and information, and to comply with the requirements of the negotiated agreement with the
St. Johns Education Association.

Investing in Kids (INK) is asking for your assistance in restocking the shelves at the Bailey Group Resource Depot where all school supplies are held. We are looking for gently used and new school supplies to distribute back to teachers across the District.
You may send your gently used or new school supplies in to school with your child or place them in the bins in the reception area and Media Center through May 25.
Track and Field Championship
We have an opportunity available for our students to participate in the Creekside High School Elementary and Middle School Track and Field Championship. It will take place Wednesday, April 6th. The field events will start at 3:30 and end around 5:30. Each participant must send in a registration form and $10 ($12 day of event) entry fee (checks payable to Creekside Track and Field). General admission for spectators is $4 and concessions will be available (all proceeds go to Creekside High School Athletic Boosters). If your child is interested in participating, please print the registration form attached. Registration forms and fees should be mailed to Eric Frank, 100 Knights Lane, Jacksonville, FL 32259. TCE will not have a formal team at the event however, if your child would like to sign-up individually it is a great introduction to the sport of Track & Field.

Summer Marine Science Program
Applications for the summer Marine Science Program were passed out at all schools during the weeks of February 22nd to 26 th Applications were due back to science teachers by March 4th. Applications can still be downloaded at any time from the website prior to April 15 at http://www-grms.stjohns.k12.fl.us/ and click on the Marine Science link. The link also will have a complete day by day curriculum for each grade level, parent information, and a video from last year's program.
This summer program is available to all students who are currently in grades five through seven and has been sponsored by the school district since 1982. Three eight day sessions are held at Gamble Rogers Middle School with bus transportation provided. The dates for the three sessions this summer will be May 31
st through June 9
th, June 13
nd through June 23
rd, and June 27
th through July 8
th. Small classes of 12 - 14 students are separated by grade level. All instructors in the program are St. Johns County School District teachers.
The Marine Science Program is a carefully designed experience for responsible students who are interested in learning about our local marine environments. Learning is "hands on" in the field with students kayaking, canoeing, boating, biking, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, etc. Specific grade level activities and curriculum are attached to the applications and are also available from the website.
Summer is just around the corner, and we are gearing up for Summer Zoo Camp here at the Alligator Farm!
