EAGLE WEEKLY
SMA HIGH SCHOOL
FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Families,

I can't thank you enough for your support in our mission to develop great citizens and prepare our cadets for higher education, careers, and/or the military. As we move closer to October, it becomes ever more important to be looking at our cadets' progress toward successful completion of the semester courses. Please remember, other than the IB A-B schedule, all of our semester courses are a full year credit! One week of classes basically equates to two weeks of classes for the traditional 50 minute class offered in other schools. This is why it is so important to keep track of our grades.

Parents, please access your cadet's progress through the district link on our website under the parent tab. You may click here for easy access.

If you have concerns, please email your cadet's Teacher, or call the office to arrange for an appointment to meet with the Teacher.

Thank you for your continuous support in serving your cadet and preparing our students for the future!

Respectfully,

SMA-LTC Frederick T. Fout
Head of School
9TH GRADE SCREENING

The state mandated 9th grade screening for height and weight will be Friday, September 21st during the JROTC class. Please ensure your cadet is in school that day. If you do not want your child screened, please send a letter to the clinic stating so. We need to have the letter on hand at least 2 days before the screening so we can notify the School Board Health Department.
PICTURE DATES
SMA WRESTLING

Eagles Wrestling Family,
Our pre-season is off to a great start and the kids are working hard in the room. We will begin workouts three days a week starting tomorrow. Workouts will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-4:00. If you have not done so already, please complete your physicals and turn your athletic packets in to the front office.

Next weekend we have seven of our wrestlers competing in the Super 32 Challenge qualifier at Osceola HS in Kissimmee, Fl. It is recommended that wrestlers participate in as many pre-season competitions as possible prior to the start of the season in November in order to get mat experience.

SMA is the team to beat in our district this season and there are a few teams out there gunning for us. Fortunately, we have three returning conference champions to help lead the way for us. (Sam Varley, Sean Cervin and Mason Marchbank) Let's keep up the motivation and looking forward to a great season!
