Our cadets have started strong this quarter and we expect ending the semester in the same fashion. We have two months left of the school year and a lot of fun events coming up.

-If any senior has not ordered their cap and gown it needs to be done asap.

-Senior Grad Bash Field Trip is Friday, April 5th
-State Drill Meet in Lakeland is Saturday, April 6th
-10th Grade Busch Gardens Field Trip is Thursday, April 11th
-ACT Site-Test is Saturday, April 13th
-SeaWorld Aquatica Field Trip is Thursday, April 18th
-VIP Exclusive Kayaking Experience with Les Stroud - Survivorman on Thursday, April 25th ($150)
Les Stroud - Survivorman - Concert to be held @ Bayside Community Church, Friday, April 26th from 7:00pm-9:30pm. Tickets for sale $35
-SMA Talent Show scheduled for next week has been changed to May 10th
-Community Service Opportunity:
ESOL & Migrant Family Event at Gocio Elementary School’s Cafeteria, Saturday, April 6th from 8:00am-11:00am (3hrs)

SEA WORLD AQUATICA
FIELD TRIP

ALAS is hosting a trip to Seaworld Aquatica Water Park in Orlando on April 18 th and you all are invited! There are only 52 spots available, the cost is $75 and permission slips may be found in either office or you may click here to print one. 
ENLISTED IN THE MILITARY?

Seniors, if you have actively enlisted in the military, you are now qualified to wear the red, white, and blue military cord at graduation. Please stop by the counseling office to sign up for your cord ASAP.
 
BLOOD BANK SCHOLARSHIPS
Senior Blood donors, listen up! Posted outside the counseling office is a list of cadets.
Highlighted in:
-blue are those who have already qualified to apply for the scholarship
-white only need one more donation
-yellow need a double donation

You can still do this in time by going to the blood bank to donate.  All applications need to be turned in to Nurse Collier by April 11 th or the blood bank by the 12 th .

Please note that the SMA Talent Show has been postponed until the 10th of May due to an unforeseen conflict with the date. The deadline for submitting the Talent Show Application has also been extended to 30th of April.

NEWS FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE

~ Scholarships are available for seniors attending College and Technical School
~ Get some hours of service and have fun at Boys and Girls Club this Spring Break (up to 35)
~ Get ready for college/technical school with Florida Shines
~ Attention sophomores! If you have a minimum of overall 3.0 GPA, you may be eligible to start dual enrollment at State College of Florida and earn college credit while completing high school (for free). For more information on all this and more, please click here.
