From your Head of School...

Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer and are ready to jump back into it and achieve at even greater levels. All of your hard work this past year brought progress on many fronts. First and foremost, please congratulate yourself, your parents, and the 17/18 graduating class for the hard work resulting in an improved school grade of “B”! This year, with the help of our amazing Faculty and Staff, the new incoming Freshman Cadets and new transfers, and our returning Cadets, we will reach greater heights of academia, leadership, community impact, personal success and an SMA "A" rating. Thank you for being a part of the SMA team, and have a great year!

CLASS SCHEDULES

Cadet schedules are available on t he Family Access Portal on our website here .
They will also be available for pick up by the flag pole on Monday morning.

BUS SCHEDULES

The bus schedules are available on our school website here.
No need to sign up.
Registration forms will be given out by the driver during the first week of school.
CLIMATE SURVEY

Dear SMA Families,

In the spirit of consistency and transparency in continuous school improvement, we would like to request your input on the topics of school climate from the Parent/Guardian perspective. This is a research based survey tool developed by a leading educational accreditation and school improvement organization that will provide us with invaluable data to support our efforts of continuous school improvement. Please take a few moments to complete this survey in order to provide us with the input we need to best meet the needs of our cadets and the families and community we serve. PARKING PERMITS

You must have this parking permit form filled out
and signed by a parent/guardian even if you are 18 years old.
Must have the original or copy of your
current Driver's License, insurance card, and registration.
Forms are also available in the main office.
RAIDERS

Raider tryouts are the first week of school. Day 1 is Monday from 3:30pm-5:00pm at the Celery Fields on Palmer Blvd. Days 2,3,4 are Tues/Wed/Thurs at the High School from 2:30pm-5:00pm, right after school. There is no bus to get to the Celery Fields, you will need to get your own ride after school and be there for the start at 3:30pm. Be in running shoes/shorts/t-shirt and have a water bottle for all 4 days. You must make all 4 days to be eligible. The team roster will be posted Friday morning just prior to formation. Practices start that same afternoon. Call MSG Johnny Browning for more information. 931-436-8222
STELLAR XPLORERS

If you are interested in Stellar Xplorers, please stop by room 2001 in Urfer Hall for more information and Team Registration during lunch.
GENTLY USED STORE

If you grew out of or no longer need your uniforms, please consider donating them to our gently used store. All items are sold for $7.00 an item. The store will be open during schedule pick up days and as needed there after.

SMA P.E. shirts and shorts
FALL SPORTS

Cadets planning on participating in any Fall sports must have the athletic packet turned in prior to tryouts.

ARE YOU APPROVED
TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR?

Parents and guardians,

If you plan on volunteering t his school year, please register ahead of time. For the first time, you may now do this from home! Please click here to register. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail from the school district. When volunteering, please stop by the main office to sign in on our Volunteers Count Computer. You will also need to obtain a visitor badge by providing your driver's license.

Level 1 Volunteer: Online background check approval needed
  • Chaperoning day trips and helping in the cafeteria, with school events, and other areas on campus

Level 2 Volunteer: Fingerprinting at the school board is required once level 1 is approved
  • Chaperoning overnight trips and transporting cadets to events
