EAGLE WEEKLY
SMA HIGH SCHOOL
May 10, 2019

We are SMA!

It is with great honor and pride that I congratulate and thank you - our cadets, parents, teachers and staff - for another phenomenal year. This past school year has been filled with outstanding achievements: our Eagles athletics program is soaring to new heights, our cadets are excelling in and outside of the classroom, and our teachers and staff continue to find new opportunities for growth and success.

As we wrap up the school year, I want to take a moment to thank each cadet, parent, staff member, teacher, board member and all of those in our community who support our Academy and our mission publicly and behind the scenes. Because of you and your support, we are able to show that SMA truly is more than a school, it’s a way of life.

While we have experienced notable achievements and excelled in many ways, there are a few challenges that have impacted our campus.

With a focus on fiscal responsibilities, safety, security and efficiency, there are a few faculty and staff members who will not be returning to SMA this upcoming year. This decision is never taken lightly and is made with much thought and council. Because SMA is a public charter school, we are not fully funded through the Sarasota County budgets, and we are met each year with new challenges. This year was no exception. As we learn and grow, we know that the 2019 – 2020 academic school year will bring new, fresh opportunities and creative ways to continue building upon a solid, prestigious reputation in our community.

Serving SMA is a privilege and an honor, and I thank our past, present and future staff and cadets for their support, commitment and dedication to our mission. We look forward to seeing what next year has to offer. Have a safe and productive summer, GO EAGLES!

Very Sincerely,

SMA-COL Christina Bowman
Executive Director of Schools
Sarasota Military Academy

RE-ENROLLMENT AT SMA

Dear Families,

It's that time of year again when parents/guardians need to complete the online  re-registration  form for next year. This is for families who already have existing registrations for their child in Sarasota County. For those who have an email address on file, an email was sent from the school district with a "snapcode" that you will need in order to complete the re-registration process. For those without an email, your snapcode was sent home in a letter via mail. If you have questions or need assistance with this process, please contact our registrar, Gail Biroscak at ext. 255.

Additional information will be sent to our new families who are not currently enrolled in a Sarasota district or charter school, with instructions on how to enroll online.
