EAGLE WEEKLY
SMA HIGH SCHOOL
FROM OUR ASSISTANT HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear SMA Families and Friends,

Can you believe it is November already? I am truly amazed of the wonderful lessons happening in and out of the classroom at SMA. Therefore, I want to encourage you all to talk to your cadets and find out what they have learned this week. Some questions to start conversations with your cadet could be the following:

Tell me one thing that you learned today.
If you were a teacher, what class would you teach? Which class would be the worst to teach? Why?
What was the coolest (saddest, funniest, scariest) thing that you saw today/this week?
If your day at school today was a movie, what movie would it be?
Besides walking to their next classes, what else do people do in the halls in between classes?
Which is your easiest class? Which is your hardest class? OR Which class are you learning the most in? Which class are you learning the least in? Why?

In addition, check in with your cadets in regards to the following: what they are reading, social media posts, class assignments, and school projects. Remember to check grades online on a weekly basis and contact your cadet’s instructors for check-ins and questions if necessary. Grade reports will be due soon and, before you know it, it will be Winter Break. So, time to regroup! Encourage your cadets to persevere at SMA as we get closer to the holidays.

Sincerely,

Dr. Catherine Rodriguez
Assistant Head of School
