Presentation Description:
The numbers of employees adversely impacted by substance use disorders is far greater than the percentage of workers pro-actively seeking help from their companies’ HR and/or EAP departments. Moving beyond the crisis-intervention model of treatment, Fay Zenoff offers insight into identifying, engaging and supporting employees who are navigating SUDs-related challenges. Fay’s integrative approach to recovery invites participants to expand their approach to positively impacting the lives of individual clients at all stages on the addiction-recovery continuum as well influence improved health and well-being across the broader organization. This presentation will be educational and interactive.

Educational Goals:
  1. Broaden participants' understanding of recovery from that of an individual's therapeutic process to that of an organization's strategic priority to improve health, safety and performance across the workforce.
  2. Expand participants’ ability to identify, support and strengthen the recovery of employees and colleagues impacted by SUDs.
  3. Increase participants’ engagement in shifting culture, policy and management practices to support the creation of recovery-conducive work environments.

Objectives:
  1. Participants will be able to recognize the four groups of employees most impacted by SUDs.
  2. Participants will be able to identify the five key areas within organizations that pose the most challenges to employees returning to work after treatment.
  3. Participants will be able to utilize the eight dimensions of wellness to help clients access and integrate recovery into all areas of well-being.
