Day 1: Saturday, September 3, 2022| 9:30am - 12:30pm

Overview of Co-Occurring Disorders & Principles of Integrated Treatment Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders are common, and frequently encountered by behavioral health practitioners. This workshop will review the prevalence of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; and provide and overview of the integrated treatment model, dual disorder treatment, as an evidence-based model of care. (3.0 CE)

Mental Health & Substance Use Disorders

Behavioral health practitioners must demonstrate a practical knowledge of common substances and how they affect mental illnesses. This workshop will review the intersection of substance use and mental illness, and discuss the most common        co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.  (3.0 CE)

Integrated Screening & Assessment

Screening and assessment are predominant to identifying and treating clients with cooccurring disorders. This workshop will provide an overview of the screening and assessment process for co-occurring disorders, and how they guide level of care determination. (3.0 CE)

Day 4: Saturday, September 24, 2002 | 9:30am - 12:30pm

Stages of Change & Motivational Interviewing

Behavioral health practitioners must utilize skills to engage and motivate clients for behavior change and achieve positive treatment outcomes. This workshop will provide an overview of the Transtheoretical Model of Change, the core skills of motivational interviewing and its application to each stage of change. (3.0 CE)

Trauma & Co-Occurring Disorders

Trauma increases a person’s likelihood of developing a substance use/mental health disorder. This workshop will review the prevalence of trauma and co-occurring substance use, and review the principles of a trauma-informed care.  (3.0 CE)
